    Evening all,

Annoyingly my payrise which I was supposed to get for the first time tomorrow didn't get processed in time for payday tomorrow.

Not so annoyed about the lack of money, I'll get it next month, more annoyed that I'll have to redo my budget for June!

They obviously don't appreciate that very last penny of my monthly is budgeted and accounted for!

    Happy Thursday all x

  • Well done on the NSDs HJ!! Go for 15 in June and see how you do! They get easier I promise although I've just missed my 25 target again this month :o

I bet you can't wait to go on holiday, we've decided to be good and give it an abroad one a miss this year, just long for some decent weather when ours is so hit and miss!! Still we'll be able to afford to go somewhere nice next year all out of our own back pocket so it'll be fine!!

You haven't got much to go on your debts now, keep up the good work!!!!
    Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

  • Hope you are ok HeyJude. Let us know how you're getting on soon :)

  • OK so I'm not sure where I've been since May! Lurking on these boards but somehow managing to not post on mine. Naughty jude :-(

So in terms of where I am, the CC is not paid off as I'd hoped. However I managed to get a 0% balance transfer and am paying off amounts that will see it all paid off in full before the 0% ends.

I've also for the first time in ages got savings!! its a very strange state of affairs for me!

I've been a little bit naughty and booked a skiing holiday for January, but I had the cash to pay for this up front and will be able to go away and enjoy with friends knowing that its paid for already.

Am trying to jump back on money saving wagon. My budgeting has slipped again as of late so need to pull this back in.

Already signed up for next years sealed pot challenge and am going to set myself a major challenge for next year.....

I WILL NOT BUY ANY NEW CLOTHES IN 2014!!!!

The only exception I'm giving myself in this is tights, as I'm hopeless and all my tights would be falling apart by February, and also sports bras. I'm a runner and seem to get through sports bras like anything!!

I've already started in this vein, and although I wanted to buy a new dress for an event I have next weekend, I've borrowed one from a friend instead.

Righto, I've off loaded all my MS thoughts for the morning. See you soon diary...I'll try not to leave it so long next time.

Have a good day all xx

  • Ok so spent a very productive afternoon cooking roast dinner, making a chocolate house and making a spreadsheet that covers until December 2014 for all my spends/outgoings!

Also told the guy I'm seeing that I really want to focus on saving some money so getting people on board who will hopefully not lead me astray :-)

  • Morning all,

So have planned all my spending for the week! Will hotfoot it via a cash machine to withdraw my weekly allowance.

I will have to turn down plans for this evening which I'd forgotten about, but i just can't afford it. Need to seriously reassess my priorities if I'm going to kick this spending habit and get some money in that house savings pot :-)

Have a good day all xx

  • Hello everyone,

Have already written this post on the train but it seems to have disappeared :-(

so managed a NSD today, only bought my train ticket to work. Even managed to resist any purchases in the supermarket on the way home when my colleague wanted to call in.

went to the library on my lunch break, and not a single money-saving book on offer! I was going to cast my eye over Martin's books but I'll have to go to a different library to get them.

So have £31.20 left for the rest of the week, of which £17.20 is needed for train fare. Will leave the rest for Thursday as am going to the theatre in the evening and will need a little bit of cash for parking.

Sorry for the rambling, this post was must more eloquent the first time round.

    Take care all xx

  • Another NSD for me! My second in a row.

Withdrew some money from the Xmas fund to buy something for mum but they didn't have the correct size, so I was very good and paid the money back in!! I figured that way I wouldn't be tempted to spend it on something unbudgeted.

Also found an old chocolate tin in the cupboard at work that I'm going to use as my sealed pot for SPC#7. Very MSE of me!! Although it's quite large, I'm not entirely sure where I'm going to put it yet.

Off for an evening of free activities.

Upsettingly I NEED to buy some brown leather shoe polish, as my winter boots really need attention. If anyone has a brilliant MSE alternative to this please feel free to share!

Hope everyone has had a good day xx

  • Evening all,

    Had another NSD today.

1 day left til payday which will be my true test! There is always the temptation just to spend.

Going to try and withdraw my weekly 'spending' budget and then leave my bank card sat home so I can't spend anymore! I'm not very good at that historically so need to really work at it!

Need to also withdraw my Xmas spending budget and somehow separate this from normal spending money.

December is such a spendy month. Looking forward to payday and the new months budget but also not looking forward to all the temptation!

    Hmm lots to think about.

    Righto that's my mind emptied!

    Have a good evening xx
