You will need to buy one - you won't get a charger replaced for free.0

Worth asking them but they're so cheap on ebay etc, it may not be worth the hassle!0

Apologies OP....when I first read your post, 'last August' in my head translated to Aug '11. I'll blame being tired...but it's probably madness setting in.
Refer back to the original retailer in the first instance. If you get no joy there (which I feel you probably won't), then try Samsung directly.
You can pick these charge plugs up very cheaply though, so could be a lot less faff just buying one.0 -
The battery isn't covered by the warranty. The charger surely is though?No free lunch, and no free laptop0

If you do need to get a new charger, please be careful with Ebay imports. I bought one and it got very hot and went bang.
It may be more expensive, but get one from a reputable source. It will work out cheaper than a house fire.0 -

According to Samsung, it's 24 months on the handset, 12 month on accessories and 6 months on the battery.Mobile phone 24 months
Accessories included with mobile phone - warranty period 12 months;
Battery - warranty period 6 months====0 -

Even better then. The charger is an accessory and in warranty until this autumn. I wasn't aware that batteries were ever covered.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

It's a common misconception that a lot of dead brain retail staff like to fuel. A lot of people working in retail obviously don't want to be there but that's not excuse for giving the wrong information to customers.
I've had retail staff tell me all kinds of lies to get me out of store when i asked them to replace my battery under warranty. I was told there was no warranty so had to show them the warranty page on my phone before they actually did anything.
Of course i'm generalising here but some retail staff are like that^
Like d123 said, there is always a warranty on Accessories and batteries. However it usually shorter than the warranty on the phone. Also phones like the HTC One have a 12 month warranty on the battery due to it's enclosed case.0
