Haven't been on MSE over the weekend, been a bit busy and to be honest haven't felt like it much. I am now reaping what I have sown here, as I have ended up spending more than I would have liked. Like the KFC we had on Saturday night...:o

Actually now that I think about it, I have only bought a KFC (£11.99) and an e-book for my Kindle (£2.36), so it could have been worse! I've eaten cr*p all weekend though....

That's OK though as the ebook I bought was about the 5:2 diet, which I have decided to give a go  So basically on 2 non-consecutive (though I think you can if you want) days, you only have 500 calories, spilt between 2 meals. So you are basically fasting. The rest of the week you eat as normal, no need to count calories, or worry about what you eat. Sounds good to me. Just a bit nervous of coping with the hunger pangs initially!! Also need to remember to up my fluid intake as we get a lot of water from food in our diet. The book opts for breakfast and dinner, but I'm not much of a fan of breakfast, so to up the length of time of the fast period I have decided to go through until lunch before I "break fast". I last ate a cake bar at approximately 9.00pm, so I will have gone from them until 1pm before I eat! About 16 hours.

Today therefore should be a NSD, I definitely won't be buying any crisps from the shop today!

Been busy all this week and tired in the evenings so haven't had time to post or even come on the board. I've barely managed to get online full stop.

I've had a pretty low spend week so far, which I'm pleased about. All I've spent money on is 75p on a bag of crisps and £2.50 on my Zumba class. Will spend another £2.50 on the second Zumba class I go to tonight.

5:2 diet is going well though! Monday was my first fast day and was hellish, I was hungry all day and I couldn't focus on anything other than food, when I could next eat etc...I did my second fast day yesterday and it was much easier. I barely noticed the hunger pangs and I felt fine throughout the day. I'm trying to only weigh myself once a week, instead of obsessively weighing daily, but I did give in and sneakily weighed myself this morning and I'm 2lb lighter atm, but I will only count whatever I weigh on Monday!

In MSE news I think I'm going to go slightly over budget for the food shop, though nowhere near as bad as the last few months so I think I'm moving in the right direction. OH is still being cagey about his money and I'm not going to have anywhere near what I thought I would come the end of the month. Still anything left can be used to pay off the CC, so I'm not going to stress about it!

Right I have to get off to work now, but I promise to update more often over the weekend, now life is a little less manic :)
  • My fil is doing the 5:2 diet and has lost 2 stone since xmas so it does work :)
Still here..... but working on that!

Oopsy I've been AWOL for over a week :o I can tell as well as I went mad and totally off the MSE rails, and ended the month with £3 in my bank account!!! Hardly the £100 odd that I was hoping for.
I've dusted myself off, had a stern word with myself and am gunning to do better this month!

It's good to know the 5:2 diet works LSD, I've just weighed myself and it's 2lb off this week, so I'm chuffed with that :D Good to know something is going right at the moment! Sorry I can't post more right now, but work is calling. Will post a longer response tonight, and sort out my budget for the month etc.
