Hi just wanted to say thank u  i've read your diary and its teally made me think positively and want to start my own.
I have also done a few things you mentioned, within the past month. I've opened the samtander 123, and the cc alongside, which ive also set up to pay off monthly! I'm currently in the process of dd's being transferred which is a pain as dh's pay has gone into the new account straight away making our old hsbc account overdrawn. I plan on paying this back asap however.
Ive also swapped energy suppliers, scottish power seemed the come up the cheapest for us, at £89 a month for gas and electric.
One thing i did do last week was shop in farm foods, i usually do a tesco home delivery, however i couldnt believe the price difference. I saw a flyer lying around in work and had to go... Last week i spent £37 instead of the usual £70 odd!
I've also e-bayed a few things which paid off a small debt i had another overdraft which had been overdrawn since it was a student account, i was really proud that the rubbish i found around my house paid off a debt. Quite inspiring!!
Anyway enough of my rambling on, i have a budget to prepare and an soa (maybe....!) eek!! To prepare.
Well done and keep up the good work xxStill here..... but working on that!0 -
Fantastic stuff LSD (I lol'd when I saw what your name shortened too :rotfl:). That's great news about all the positive changes you have made in such a short space of time! Let me know when your diary is up and running and I will follow along!:D
I'm well jel you have listed stuff on e-bay, I am still procrastinating on that one, though I have managed to keep up with my surveys so far! They make lose the will to live, they really do! Hmm I think we may have FF's in Torquay, will have to look into that, as my current obsession is getting the food bill down significantly. How can 2 adults and a teensy weensy cat consistently spend £270 a month on food and cleaning products?! It's madness!!!
In other news, when I got home from work there was a letter from Virgin offering 0% on balance transfers til June next year. That was all I needed so have transferred OH's CC balance over. He is going to pay me £40 a month, which isn't enough to clear it in 12 months but I will probs top it up to make sure it is...
Right off to make dinner, lazy one of scampi, HM oven chips and beans0 -
Morning Diary!
It's only half 9 but I've been up for hours, sleep seems to be eluding me at the moment. I keep waking up stupidly early then can't back to sleep because of OH's snoooooring!
Day off work today as I worked the weekend. It's raining boo, but I have no plans to go out as a result, so hoping for a SFD.
I was naughty yesterday though, bought 2 foody mags from the shop at work doh, setting me back £6.30
Also did naff all after work. Came home and managed to make dinner (scampi, chips and beans how lazy), SIL came round to look at old laptop as she might want it for my niece to do her homework on (and no doubt fb too). Then after dinner cleaned up the kitchen, put the Tesco shop away , had a cup of tea and promptly fell asleep on the sofa  OH woke me up at half 10 to shuffle me off to bed...
So today I am going to BLITZ this house, it will be lovely and clean by time OH comes home, my filing will be up to date and I will have done some surveys and played with my cheese for the BzzAgent campaign I am currently doing. Lunch is going to be some kind of quesadillas I think using some mexican, spicy monterey jack cheese I have to review, yum! May also expeiment with incorporating it into some kind of patas bravas as well.
Bzzagent are also sending me a hairdye to review, will be fun, as I haven't coloured my hair for a little while, so it will be nice to have a bit of a change!
Well the house won't clean itself so off I trot, laters!0 -
Update: I wouldn't say I have blitzed the house but it is looking a bit cleaner and tidier. Have hoovered downstairs and the stairs, just upstairs left to do.Have also ran the dishwasher and emptied it, and mopped the kitchen floor.
Have started sorting out my filing. Have got rid of the junk mail and bits that I don't need to keep, just need to put the rest in the filing cabinet and that's all done. Chicken is defrosting for dinner, surveys have been done, and I've done my tasks for BzzAgent! Oh and the washing is drying on the airer in the spare room as it's raining here still
Have also updated my food budget and I think I'm on target to come in on/slightly under budget for the first time since I set a budget (3 months ago ) for groceries! Just need to badger OH to pay for this week's shop now!0 -
Just a quickie before I dash off to work,
Need to find a fiver today for colleague at work who's birthday it is. We all put in fiver for each other's birthday, which is very nice!Think it will have to come out of my not-so-sealed-pot, which isn't as good, shouldn't have bought those magazines...
Still onwards and upwards, I'm pretty pleased with what I managed to acheive yesterday and my goal for today is to not go into the shop on the way out of work, just walk straight to the bus stop and get the bus! Zumba tonight though, so today will be a spend day, but at least it is planned and accounted for.
Was looking at holidays yesterday, don't know why as we can't afford one this year...:(, and I doubt we can next year. OH had a letter off his bank yesterday and was wandering around muttering about overdraft charges, I'm really, really, really hoping he isn't in his OD. It's 13 days to payday  it will cost him a fortune...right best dash, work is calling.
Have a great day everyone xx0 -
Didn't do well yesterday!! I forgot to grab a fiver from my tin, so instead I ended up drawing a tenner out of the cashmachine at work which charges the princely sum of £1.85 to access your own money grrr  Then whilst I was at the shop I grabbed a bag of crisps which were over 200 calories
I think I am going to make this diary do double duty and act as a food diary too. Perhaps if I have to write down what I eat I won't eat as much, because yesterday was truly shocking! Zumba was good fun though, and I'm finally starting to get the hang of the steps in some of the dances
Didn't have a lot of free time yesterday so I've fallen behind on doing any surveys, or anything else vaguely MSE, though I did do a couple on OnePoll.
So drawing a line under yesterday and plan on making today a NSD.

Breakfast: small bowl of Tesco's Honey Nut Cornflakes with 1% milk
Lunch: 1 Tesco value tortilla wrap, remainder of a pot of caramelised onion hummus, muller light yoghurt

Don't feel down heartened.
If you really want to log your food then join "my fitness pal", it is free& it tells you the calorific value of everythign you eat & works out how much you should eat to lose weight. You get to eat more if you exercise & I have found it a really useful tool for weightloss.
I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.
2015 £2 saver #188 = £450 -
Thanks Quidsy, I will definitely check that website out! It does seem to have worked today though. I like the idea of extra cals if I do any exercise
I didn't visit the shop (so today was a NSD wohoo), and haven't snacked after dinner tonight, though my portion was a bit mammoth lol :eek:0 -
Mornin' Diary,
So tired this morning! Now trying to convince my tummy that it does want to eat some breakfast...
Forgot to mention yesterday that my number for NS&I came through yesterday, so I plan on logging in later and seeing what's what! Also my letter from the GPhC came through for my annual fees to stay on the register...£108, but I'm pleased to say that I have it all saved up already:money:I have until the end of August to pay for it, but I will do that tonight as well, so that I know it is done.
In other MSE news my free John Frieda samples arrived in the post yesterday, what fun! Also had a letter from Barclaycard offering me 0% for 20 months on balance transfers if I take out a CC with them  I don't need to though so I'm not going to bother. I know it can look squiffy on your credit rating if you apply for too many in too short a space of time.
I was supposed to be going to Zumba after work tonight, but I don't think I'm going to be able to now. Think there are lots of people off work so the chances are slim of being able to leave on timewill try and think of the overtime I can claim for instead :j

Dinner: Indian take-away (!!!)
Snacks: 1 Tesco Value apricot flavour fromage frais, pack of mini cheddars, mini digestive biscuit
Drinks: 3 cup of tea, 500ml bottle of squash,0
