I suggest a Virgin Money Pre-paid credit card

If it is 'pre paid' then it isn't a credit card, but a debit.

Te only card for Seniors is SAGA, which I believe is for the over 60's. Full info on their website - https://www.saga.co.uk.

I have a capitol one credit card that has a cash back facility so I use it as a debit card and pay it off every month and have done for the past 6 years Every january I get a nice little amount in credit for spending my own cash in effect 'free cash' Last Janusry I had £80 + in credit and used it to buy some bargains in the sales .:):):) its called making your money work for you :):) I use it to top up my diesel in my car and for shopping when I want to buy a bigger item than just food (I pay for food from my seperate food budget purse.I also use it when I go to the cinema or on the occasions when I don't want to carry a large amount around with me.I bought my new stair carpet a few months ago and at £300.00 I had a £3.00 cash back go onto my account for next January. My cash back is already at around £27.00 for this year its like having a 'hidden' savings for using your own money.Plus there is no monthly bill for using it

The Sainsbury Nectar credit card is good if you shop at Sainsbury fairly often which I do. It gives you Nectar points for shopping in Sainsbury's (in addition to the 'normal' ones) and minimal additional points for any shopping elsewhere. The points collected can then be used to offset food shopping.

I don't know how old or how keen OP's mother is to have this card. I'd hate to see her getting into any debt if she's not familiar with how they work. Obviously OP could supervise to check that bills are paid on time etc but then that rather begs the question why bother?

Could you add her as an additional card holder on an account of yours? And when she purchases something she could then just give you the money?

Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.

No, they don't! - They just call it the Virgin Prepaid Card.

After all, to call it a 'Credit Card' would be against the Trade Description Act, as there is no element of giving credit involved.

No need to tell idiots when they've got it wrong. They also advertise they have a 'rolling' mobile contract when it does nothing of the sort!
