Tancred, can you explain why anyone paying more than 10% is paying too much? I am surprised to note that our household pays nearly 20% but our council tax is very high (big house) and we have oil heating which again is a high cost but its what we have and live in about the colderst part of Scotland so need it. Maybe should get a part time job as well as full time one and that will increase income and so reduce the percentage. Or else put husband out to work.0

Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0
