will try the number tmw as just got exactly the same prob as before in sending an email to the germany datum address ..i got an email saying 'undeliverable' to that address!!0

If all else fails you can go back to Lidl under the SoGA. You may need an independent report to say the item is inherently faulty, but the cost of this will be refunded if it is.
FYI, it is highly unlikely you will get a refund under either the warranty or SoGA, so I wouldn't get your hopes up.0
