We are looking for an island hood with am extraction rate of a minimum of 1000 m3 and less than 63db noise levels.
We want to spend as least as possible but do not want to compromise on a good quality product.
Any suggestions?

are you sure you need 1000m3/hr ? how big is your kitchenI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
The kitchen is open plan inc a dining and living section.
The measurements are 8.4m * 8m.
Celing height is 2.3mLondon, UK0 -
If you can put the extraction motor in the loft or on the outside wall, you wouldn't care as much about the noise levels...
Just something to think about.0 -
What are my options in terms of make and model?
ThanksLondon, UK0 -
You haven't specified your upper limit cost-wise. Without that your options are almost limitless...

You need more than just 1000m3/hr extraction rate - more like 1500-1200-1500 m3/hr. With a 2.3m ceiling, I wouldn't recommend a ceiling hung hood so a ceiling recessed unit would be idea but I cant think of anything that would come in under or around £1000.
If budget permits, Westin do one with a 1600m3/hr motor but you are looking at a price nearer £1900. Its a superb product though. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I agree with ryder72 above, you need something with an extraction rate of 1500 m³/hr or above.
Have you looked at the Elica range of island cooker hoods:
