Can You Still Sky+ Without Subscription ?

I recently downgraded my Sky package and cancelled sports and HD. Due to financial problems I am now thinking of also cancelling entertainment extra and multi-room.
What I need to know is if I did this and in effect had no actual Sky subscription, could I still Sky+ ? Also, how would this affect multi-room ?

Cancel and all subscription channels will disappear along with any recordings you have made.
You'll only be able to access Sky+ recording features if you pay Sky £10.25 a month.
Multi-room is unaffected.0 -
if you cancel the subscription and used the box like freeview you would need to pay £10 for the sky+ facility0

therefore it usually ends up cheaper to buy a freesat recorder in the long run0

I would if only I had a working rooftop aerial0 -
A Freesat box works with your existing Sky dish. Its Freeview that needs an aerial.

Would I be able to get Sky+ in the multi room also for the £10.25 ? Basically, would I get all free channels and Sky+ in both rooms for £10.25 ? My son reckons we would still need some sort of Sky card for the boxes to continue to work at all....is this correct ?
Sorry for so many questions, but replies are very much appreciated0 -

Certainly you'd be able to view all the free-to-view channels on both boxes without paying anything. Your expired viewing cards would still allow this.0
