Tracing Child Trust Fund

Has anyone had any luck tracing a CTF account? I did not use the voucher in time so I expect UK gov would have deposited the money with a random provider.
However, since Jan 2012 expiry date of the voucher I have not received any statement from any provider, so I don't even know if an account actually exists.
I found an old MSE thread "Tracing a Child Trust Fund" from 2008 about tracing CTF's, last reply 27-04-2008, 4:57 PM. That thread is now closed. That thread suggested that Gov would use a random provider, to distribute the Gov voucher money around all available CTF providers.
The HMRC CTF telephone helpline is now shut down and they also no longer appear to answer any CTF email enquiries. So that line of inquiry is dead. Wonderful.
I found this address:
Does anyone know if postal enquiries to this address are still responded to?
Any ideas? Am I really going to have to contact ALL possible providers?
I want to find the account, if it exists, so that I am ready in a position to be able to transfer to a JISA next year (my assumption being that perhaps from April 2014 CTF's will be able to transfer to JISA's).

According to HMRC website:A Child Trust Fund (CTF) is a long-term tax-free savings account for children. All children eligible for a CTF account should now have one.
So there is little to zero chance that my child does NOT have an account.
Question is, where on earth is it?
We've not had any documentation from any provider, as far as we can remember.0 -

Thanks xylophone. I had tried that online form previously, mind you with my own details (my wife receives the Child Benefit); I've now tried it with details of my wife.
I'll report back if the HMRC responds in any way. They did not reply when I previously submitted this form.0 -

The above (updated April 2013) is quite specific that the form is to be used.
If you have had no response after a month or so, I think that you'll have to telephone HMRC on a general enquiry line or possibly even on the CB helpline to see if you can obtain further assistance? http://search2.hmrc.gov.uk/kb5/hmrc/contactus/view.page?record=LNktdzH4gr00 -
Just wanted to post and say that we have now found the CTF using my wife's details :j
I had been looking using my own details (NI number, etc).
So the good news is that HMRC are still responding to CTF queries via the online form. It took approx 3 weeks for them to reply.0 -
I've found a link on the gov.uk site so I suggest you try this and see how you go.
I'm a new user and I can't post a url at the moment as it's too spammy. but go the gov.uk site and type in child trust fund that should do it.
Good Luck0 -
I'm trying to trace my child's trust fund. Does anyone know how I can do this now in 2015? I've twice filled in the HMRC form in the last 6 months and never got a reply. There's also no contact phone number on the site. Has anyone had any success with this lately, and if so which website/number did you call?0

No, as I said above, I've filled that out twice in the last 6 months and didn't get a response.

The above was updated in April and gives the link to the form in my previous so it is odd that it gives no result.
It would seem that you will have to telephone HMRC as you are getting nowhere with the form.

Other posters have said that it is best to try around 7.45 am.0
