Sky Broadband offer or Talk Talk?

MSE has posted a deal under the broadband section with Sky Unlimited that works out at £164 for a year with Sky if you pay upfront on the line rental, plus you get a £50 m&s voucher. I need unlimited broadband and don't currently have a landline. Sky say the connection fee is £15.

Talk Talk also have unlimited broadband at a cheap price, and BT were doing a deal as well which might have expired as I can't find it, but it might not have been unlimited.

Anyway, my question is am I missing anything? Is this the great deal I think it is or will I have hassle if I change to another phone company when the year is up. It sounds too good to be true so I am trying to find out if there is any disadvantage that I am not aware of. I have been using a 3 network dongle for years so don't have a clue about landline broadband.

Ha, nicely integrated title of a great book. Yeah, the Sky deal does seem to be good and my sister has not had probs with them, but she doesnt watch much video on line.

I will worry about the logistics of transferring when a year is up, but unless anyone else posts with another book title I'll sign up to Sky.

Assuming you are signing up to the LLU service then the transfer to another provider at the end of your contract could be slightly more problematic. The MAC procedure does not work with LLU transfers.

Also if you use the ISPs email service you may lose access to it when you transfer, best to sort out your own eg GMail.
I've been with Sky for a few years now, and have found the customer service has improved vastly since their early days. In the event of problems any delay in resolution is usually down to getting BT Openreach out, which is the same with any other provider.
The SR101 hub seems more stable than the previous Sagem routers that I have had.
