Partner moving in

Hi everyone,
I need a bit of help please
My partner is in the process of moving out of his mum's home and into my flat which is in Glasgow. He has been on Glasgow City Council website to fill in the details about his change of address for council tax purposes but the form asks for landlord details etc. Additionally he is a full time student and in the process of applying for his SAAS funding and they have asked for a tenancy agreement.
So, since he is moving in with me I assume I will be his landlord. But do I then need to draught up a tenancy agreement for this? And is there any other paper work I need to complete or get since I am now technically his landlord? Neither of us are on benefits as I work full time and he is a full time student with a part time job.
I will call GCC on Monday but was just wondering if anyone here could shed some light on this for me.
Thanks in advance,.

Do you own your flat or do you rent it?0

Hi,
I own the flat.0 -
Do it the other way round. You contact GCC and tell them you are no longer entitled to single persons discount. They will probably ask where he lived previously.
Landlord status and tenancy agreement is surely unnecessary.0 -
Thanks for the reply. I would have thought landlord status and tenancy agreement was unnecessary as well. That is why I am a bit confused by it all! I would have thought that for his SAAS funding application he would just have to send proof of address but he ticked the box that says "living with partner" and it states they need a tenancy agreement or proof of joint mortgage (which it isn't). We will call SAAS and GCC on Monday to sort it out but was just curious if anyone had advice in the meantime.0

You are not his landlord, he is becoming a member of your 'household'.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0

Yeah, I'd assume he'll be "lodging" with you unless you were to add him to your mortgage.0

If its not too off the wall a suggestion, why not ring council and ask?0
-
Lodgers don't need tenancy agreements.
Partners don't need anything. In this case you just tell the council that you no longer are entitled to the 25% discount.
Simple as that reallymake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
All she not be entitled to the 25% student discount instead?0
