Cheapest credit-based PAYG SIM for Calls & Data?

Need to get a SIM for my mum, she's a very infrequent user (maybe once every couple of months) so want something where I can just keep a bunch of credit on the phone (i.e. not a monthly PAYG tariff) Calls will all be very short so the cheapest PAYG rate is what I'm after.

Here's what I need:
  • Based on credit on the phone, not any type of monthly fee as use is very infrequent
  • Some type of auto-top up facility from my bank account when funds are running low so she doesn't have to top up herself
  • Cheapest PAYG rate for calls to other mobiles (regardless of network)
  • Cheapest PAYG rate for data (wont be a huge amount, just occasionally for checking bus times through an app)

Anyone know the closest match for the above?

Thanks.

You are wrong dismissing Giffgaff as you don't *have* to buy goodybags there and they do offer auto topups.

However, the cheapest will be Oviovo that give you 150 minutes every month without any topups: http://ovivomobile.com/

I'd suggest Giffgaff or possibly Toggle Mobile if your mother goes abroad sometimes, as it eliminates many roaming charges. In fact, some of Toggle's UK charges are more favourable than Giffgaff.

Another recommendation for Giffgaff. You can set up auto top up for whenever credit gets to £3. At 10p per call and 20p per day on day of use for Mobile Internet you can't go wrong. Then throw in free calls to 0800/0808 or 0500 for the infrequent user it is brilliant. All this on the O2 network, which has pretty good coverage.

Plus you can use http://www.18185.co.uk/mobilerates.php via there 0808 freephone access for even cheaper landline, weekend mobile, and 0845/0870 calls .:D
