    WRONG !!!!!!!!!!

As long as you have paid enough NI contributions for the past 2 tax years anyone can claim JSA, even millionaires. As usual on this type of thread you have people with no experience posting incorrect facts thinking that they know more then people with experience in that particular field

That is contributions based. Income based JSA is dependent on savings, according to direct.gov.uk as quoted by kloana a couple of posts above yours

I can't believe that you got 6 Thanked Posts for this response, no doubt from The Daily Mail Readers Brigade. Think you got your answer didn't you. Also did you know that Millionaires can claim Job seekers allowance and get it ?
Contribution based yes but not income based

Sorry but you need to look back at this persons original post.
They implied that anyone with savings of £16,000 would not get any form of JSA which is not true

Of course...But you still get the stupid people on here who say "How can someone afford a holiday on JSA and they shouldn't be allowed" etc. They do not realise that even if they were millionaires they could still claim JSA for upto 6 months.

True but you did not make the distinction in your post either.

And by the way I do wish people on these forums would stop referring to Daily Mail readers as if they are a different breed or dum-dums. We are human like the rest of you and the Daily Mail is a newspaper like any other, it's just the opinions expressed are not the same as yours or what you want to hear.

You mean the post that implied anyone Claiming JSA should not be allowed to go on holiday abroad.

I wanted the poster to work it out for themselves as to why millionaires might be able to get JSA. As for Daily Mail readers this section of the board if full of them tarring all out of work people with the same brush as being lazy. You just have to read the working with smokers thread as evidence to see why. Also the fact that 12 people on this thread thanked the poster who implied that Anyone on JSA should not be allowed to go on holiday abroad speaks volumes of the fact that this section of the board is overrun by The Daily Mail Readers Brigade.

But how do you know they are Daily Mail readers? See, you are doing it again, stereotyping. They could just as easily be guardian or telegraph readers for all you know. All papers have those kinds of things in them from time to time, it's the nature of journalism.

What absolute nonsense. There is no link between DWP computer systems and airport systems. Its quite laughable.

As for HMRC recovering money owed in tax from holiday makers well I'm still laughing :rotfl:
Sorry I'm late on this and sorry that I have to agree. I know someone that managed to fit in a 10 day all-inclusive trip to Cyprus high season in-between the fortnightly sign on.
