I got some items including a dual socket faceplate from Clarity.it and had no issues with it.

Is it the dual faceplate used to replace the existing NTE5 master socket faceplate? - if so, then in the simplest form you just unscrew the original and swap (using the longer screws to fasten it) then use one socket for modem and the other for phone. No filter should be used.

However, it's a bank holiday weekend and I suspect they've gone home early.... reading their humourous write ups gives the impression that they'd probably do that.... and I can't say I blame them.

From the sounds of it, the new faceplate is faulty if no other extensions are used.

Is it not just a simple case of disconnecting the 'bell wire' from the master socket yourself?

Depends what you want to achieve, if you don't want any filters on your phone (voice) extensions or you just want the best connection possible then the dual faceplate works well.

It allows for a dedicated extension for a modem and another extension providing pre filtered voice so no nasty filters required.

I increased my speeds a little bit with one of these and had already removed the bell wire before.

Which socket on the Clarity faceplate did you connect your router/modem to?
The one with the icon of a monitor on it, the phone line was plugged into the socket with the phone icon on it.

And I have tested a micro filter directly into the incoming master BT socket and get the internet that way fine.

I can see there's very little to go wrong on the ADSL filter, that's why I'm asking for tips on here before returning it. I also want to know if Clarity are sound and if so why they haven't replied to my 2 emails.

BTW I sent the emails to clarity over 10 days ago and still await any answer.

There is very little to go wrong but it sounds like yours has a problem. I'm sure the back cover easily unclips from the front with a gentle prise, if you feel you can without marking / scratching it. Then maybe you see something obviously broken/missing.

The modem socket is an RJ45 and you're likely plugging in an RJ11 plug, I wonder if the plug isn't a tight fit and not making a good connection. Although they say the RJ45 allows for RJ11 plugs to fit ok, I've never been too happy with this arrangement as the little RJ11 can float around in the bigger RJ45 socket. Any chance you've got another RJ11 cable to try or better still can you make up an RJ11 to RJ45 cable? ANother test if you're happy to chop up a spare RJ11 cable is to hard wire it into the back of the faceplate and test that way.

I'm a bit surprised you haven't heard from them in 10 days as they seem quite legit.

I couldn't get the ADSL faceplate to work properly but my missus found another email address on their website: 'boss@etc etc'.
So I sent an email to him and by return I had an email from some techie apologising for missing my emails to the tech lot etc etc blah, blah.

And he sent me another ADSL faceplate which I received last Friday and installed straight away and this one works.

So 15 days to resolve but I'm happy now although it didn't increase my internet download speed but the cabling at the BT socket looks tidier.
