I was not happy with the durability of the 405 very light but the plastics were very flimsy. I called Amazon yesterday and they have asked me to return it for a refund. They have emailed me the labels and instuctions The printer will be picked up from my address.
I had looked at the XP 605 Santer advised me to speak about return of this if not any better.
I went over to PC world who had this printer on display. The actual printer is quite simply far superior to the 406. Their price was the same as Amazon so I simply bought it from them
Now I am not sure what I do with the 405 how to take it off my laptop. Do I need to uninstall it?
Amazon say that I will have a refund in about 2-3 weeks but I am happy to wait for it to filter through.
I was able to set the 405 wirelessly to my laptop.
The 605 was £20 more expensive than the 405 but even though I have tried it as yet I am much more confident that i have a printer which is more durable. I did not take their offer of an extended guarantee
The printers that you suggested Santer where not available on the web sites I looked at just out of stock
No doubt there may be more questions before I am fully up and running but thanks to everyone who has given me good advice here

I am very happy to report that I have managed to set up the new printer both wireless on the laptop and my desktop

Quite proud of myself I am also very happy that I have changed to the 605 At £69 99 feel it is a good buy
