Yes facts need added to the case, carefully worded and also a phone call so they can close the case which is a disgrace , having to leave it for 8 days, some sort of legality to sit and twiddle your fingers.

If it were a car and had a fault you test drive before taking it away and you fix it if it's faulty as it is legally your car then, that should apply here too, the fella was happy to cycle on the bike and them abused it and says AFTER he has used it in a sequence of emails an admittance that he damaged it on fannying about with it, but blamed the seller for not using the correct sprocket or bike bit! So trying to deflect the blame back, the seller was remorseful and fully compliant and told the geezer to bring it back round (I guess he lives locally) and that together, they would check it out and resolve it probably all it warranted was a squirt of WD40!

But the buyer refused to bring it back and didn't take pictorial evidence of fault ,and anyway that's neither here not there, he caused the damage to the bike in his possession !

Update: Ebay have found in my favour as among other factors the buyer collected the item and was not eligible for buyer protection. I tried to reason with the buyer again over the weekend and he listed more faults, makes me now question his genuineness. I just hope that's the end of the matter! Thanks again for peoples replies.

Yeah that is great news the buyer has shot himself in the foot and ebay have done the right thing by you.

Now just now ignore/block the nuisance on your ebay listings and from any hassling and block tel numbers etc, if they were to try and call again, now the matter is closed, if they were unhappy and needed a replacement part cos they broke it, then it is their job to sort it or sell it back at ebay, you done nothing wrong so well done!

I've not got much a scooby about ins and outs of cases,

So stop giving incorrect advice presented as fact.
