PAYG mobile internet that doesn't expire???

I can have a PAYG mobile 'phone, on which I can load say £10 of credit, and keep it (e. g. in car glovebox) for emergencies, and it doesn't expire. (OK, maybe I have to make a call every few months.) Is there ANY mobile internet equivalent? One where I can buy some credit, and then use it as and when I want? Maybe using it…

If the price of the dongle isn't an issue why not hust buy one of the old vodaphone dongles that have an unexpiring contract? You can only top up £15 at a time but it doesn't expire.

You can get them on ebay for about £50
