Motorbikes recovery

Been with RAC for years. Main policy covers me for anything as drive or ride. A massive downpour fried my electrics in Larne - they turned up in 40 mins, dried it out, WD40'd the bits that needed it and I was on my way.0

Do bear in mind, very few of these recovery firms will recover you if you have an accident. Definitely worth bearing in mind...
Also check out if your bank account do a premium subscription bank account that gives you breakdown cover. This got me RAC cover much cheaper than on it's own, plus I blagged a few other useful benefits.
The RAC, at least, have seen the light again on this; I had a letter this week telling me they now do recovery after accidents. (They will attempt to recover the cost from insurance I think.)The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0

They'll give you the cheapest cover available though, as I found with AA via HBOS, where it only included roadside repair / 10 mile recovery, meaning I had to pay an extra £99 (I think £49 for the upgrade + a £50 side-of-road-fee) at the road side to get towed back 15 miles. In reality, it was cheaper to get decent AA cover direct as I didn't use any other bank features.
It may still be worth while but it's also worth checking out exactly what's included in advance!0

The problem comes if you have a little spill - and break (say) the gear lever.
They'll recover you only if you agree to put in an insurance claim (so they can recover the callout from your insurance) but you'll not want to put in a claim for a £10 gear lever.0
