Motorbikes recovery

AutoAid will cover you and send a bike recovery truck to get it.
I know because I used it three weeks ago! What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -
I've been recovered once and followed home once with the RAC.
With the recovery, they automatically sent a contractor that had a motorbike setup on the back of it.0 -
All AA vans have a bit for a motorbike on the back. We have joint cover, and my OH uses it for his moped (which, being an automatic, can't go on the bit at the back of the van, so gets loaded onto a huge breakdown truck - a very comical sight!). Everytime we've called them, they seem to know what they're doing with the bikes too.0

Green Flag will also recover your bike. We have personal cover from them and both cars and bikes are covered.0

I have Honda Assist, and when the scooter needed recovering one day, they sent a huge breakdown truck and strapped my little scoot on the main bed of it, it did kinda look a bit lost.0

If you only ever ride within a certain radius of home then check if your local dealer offers a free/low cost/free if we repair it 24hr breakdown service. Some do. Some don't.The man without a signature.0

I've been with the RAC many years, and they claim to be able to assist bikes just as well as cars. I spoke to an RAC rep at a service area last week just to get confirmation of this, and he said he dealt with them all the time. Fortunately, I have never needed them, so I can't comment on how well they do.
My only breakdown on a bike where I needed recovery was in North Wales in the winter, and I was with the AA (special deal because my Dad was a member). They refused to come out because it was snowing. Their words were "we might not get the van up to you, and it might not be able to get back". I was stranded on the A5, for goodness' sake, not up some farm track. I ended up pushing the bike a mile to a railway station and taking it home on the train. I left the AA shortly afterwards and have been with the RAC ever since.
Will have to look into alternatives like AutoAid and the like, though. If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0 -
Do bear in mind, very few of these recovery firms will recover you if you have an accident. Definitely worth bearing in mind...
Also check out if your bank account do a premium subscription bank account that gives you breakdown cover. This got me RAC cover much cheaper than on it's own, plus I blagged a few other useful benefits.0 -
