It will get ten times worse when Royal Mail is sold off.
Why?I have little confidence that that secret filming wouldn't find behaviour like this in royal mail now ,0 -
True ....because only two days ago, I had a SIGNED FOR recorded delivery medium size bulky item, so the postman knocked my door and handed me it, I asked to sign the PDA and he smiled and goes "it's OK I have done it already! " now, this is the second time he has forged my name just as I opened the front door he scrawled on the screen, arghh ! I know as I looked at the online tracking and theres this unreadable wavy line! As an ex TNT delivery driver, what you see at the UKmail depot is the tip of the iceberg.
I won't mention the depot by name, but about 8 years ago in the weeks leading up to Christmas, a box went missing from the loading bay at the back of my van...it was scanned on, but not loaded as it was one of my first drops and they hadn't finished loading my last drops yet (my last drops were in another nearby town so were loaded furthest from the rear doors...)
This box that 'went missing' contained a chess set. A solid gold chess set. It was supposed to be delivered to a factory to go under their Christmas tree before being given to a Saudi prince as a gift after he spent over a million pounds with them.
It never made it onto my van. The sender of the package hadn't ticked the extra insurance box and after TNT own security and two police forces had no luck finding out what had happened to it he was paid out the standard amount a package is covered for if you don't pay for the extra insurance. £25.00p
The actual value was £25,000.00p _pale_
Six weeks later the driver of the van parked next to mine on the loading bay came into work in a brand new car.
Coincidence?
This is just one of many, many horror stories I could tell you about my time at TNT...0 -
We use UK Mail, and have had a set of speakers "gone missing", and I think they only refunded a couple of quid (these were £60 speakers)"Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

LONG sorry....
Clearly , there are some horror stories that never make it to the telly or newspapers, I would just like to add my experiences.
Yodel had my netbook computer delivering on Amazons behalf and at the time they say 2pm left in safe place , in my garden, or some unknown place, it said "safe place" on tracking page but, I was home, no one came to my door. I rang Amazon enraged after checking the tracking. It was a funny one and Amazon posted me a second one out using a different service and I never heard any more about it.
Case 2 was also Yodel. I had my mums broken Dyson to sell for spares and repairs she got a new one , but I used the NEW outer box from her current Dyson to post to a guy who buys and sells and revamps them and he operates on ebay. It got collected by Yodel and never made it. The tracking showed it never left the warehouse, tracking was all screwed up. I had to repay the man back his paypal and resolve it ,it was about £30 . I was on every other day to customer service and they eventually sent my money back and an extra £10 for inconvenience.
The funny twist of the Dyson though, the courier probably flung their hands up and said "here my missis has wanted this Dyson ball for an age , here is one , thank you it will be lost...ha" And of course he will have opened it and have a broken rattly old version outside of its warranty ,that made a hellish noise and didnt pick up would need at least £80 of parts to operate again. That still makes me smile!
BUT I have to say I have only praise for Parcelforce and DPD and had really great experiences the times I have had them deliver goods to me.NB...People online who are here asking advice for "my friend" they really mean "myself" :eek:0 -

This is a criminal and dismissible offence at Royal Mail.0
