Last minute euro tunnel prices?

The tunnel won't be good value last minute, if you book ahead they're fantastic though. Your best bet is to hit the ferries.0

I'd consider the ferries as well as they do seem cheaper.
My main concern is flexibility. After looking at the tunnel you have to name the day and time your going/returning. Now that's OK, but it may be nice to have a bit of flexibility in there, but the tunnel charges much more for this.
More research needed :cool:0 -
Planning is the way forward, fares usually depend on the length of time away, day returns cheapest then 3, 5 or 10 day returns then longer stays, depending on the Company.
After the tunnel P&O have the most sailings pretty much every hour, 90 mins during the night, so not much hanging around if you miss one. P&O have never charged me extra for being late although now they have a 2 tier ticket option, fixed and flexi, maybe they will tighten up on that. Their flexi ticket allows an 8 hour window around your booked departure, 4 hours late or early at no charge, although the ticket is £20 more.
I usually base my decision on price as there isn't much to choose between P&O, DFDS and Myferry,
A comparison site should give you an overall view of what you might pay with all the carriers, Ferrysavers is showing, £70 for DFDS, £74 for myferrylink, £78 for P&O and £187 for the tunnel for a 2 week return trip leaving next week.0 -

The tunnel are amazing at this btw. I have used them many times and whenever I show up early they get me on an earlier train than the one I booked. This is without having to ask either.
It's just that last minute they charge the Earth so the ferries are better as you say.0 -
But if you book ahead with the tunnel you get some good deals, I just tend to go with the ferry as I'm weird like thatThe Very Right Honourable Lady Tarry of the Alphabetty thread-I just love finding bargains and saving moneyI love to travel as much as I can when I canLife has a way to test you, it's how you deal with this that matters0

On the day they're extortionate, much better booking way ahead. Use the link below and search Dover - Calais. It'll also bring up prices for Dover - Dunkirk and eurotunnel, all at the same prices as direct with the operators. Then you just decide how much you want to pay.
