LOL, that's a laughable sign and no, these are not BPA AOS members. IGNORE THE SCAM.

I did a bit of Googling and found this PDF of their contract with your site landowner. Your landowner is an IDIOT for signing this!!

http://www.herrmann.me.uk/stbenedicts/documents/parking-terms.pdf

Not only does the owner have to PAY an annual fee(!!) to this unregulated bunch of traffic-warden-impersonators, but they also have this clause:

'' LIABILITY
4
e Except as provided in clause 4(b) and 4(c) The Client will indemnify The Company against any liability arising out of any claim by any third party against The Company arising from its performance of its obligations under this contract together with all reasonable legal costs relating to any such claim.''

So the stupid landowner has to indemnify these chancers if they are ever sued for harassment/alarm/distress, breach of Equality Act, damages for trespass etc.! And there's no limit! Also, because the landowner is using an unregulated non-AOS member firm, the agents CANNOT get DVLA access so have no more powers than if the landowner sent his teenage son round twice a day to stick bits of paper on the windscreens of cars. And he is stuck with this 'service' for a whole year at least!

Why don't you take a printed copy of this discussion thread and anonymously post it to the hapless landowner, for his information?
So, PPCs scamming landowners as well as hapless drivers! How low will these cowboys stoop?

I think a complaint to the DVLA about that sign is in order. Make the DVLA aware that they have no "reasonable cause* to give keeper info to this bunch!
How can you be contractually obliged to pay this lot £130 if you do not have sight of the T&Cs?

And if I do happen to get a ticket from this lot in the post......the DVLA have given out my address against the law.

There are SO many cowboys it seems in the car parking 'industry'

Yes that is right, but you will hear nothing because they won't. It's all a scam that ANYONE could pull.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Their website is a jolly read:

We have no doubt that once this service is in operation, you will find your problems greatly reduced. However, there will always be those who ignore the notices, or believe them to be without substance. These people may offend once, but the inconvenience of receiving a Charge Notice or having their vehicle re-positioned is usually sufficient to convince them not to do so a second time.

• The question you need to ask yourselves is this.. you may believe this company to not be legitimate or 'cowboys' as a lot of people who have experienced any form of parking ticket/clamp.. if there was no such thing as parking enforcement would the world be a better place?
Sensible answer - NO!
Ok so you got a ticket because your permit was invalid or you forgot to display it.. sometimes that's just bad luck.. BUT if those signs and patrols were not there in the first place would you even be able to park your vehicle there? No!
The reason people have parking enforcement is so they can park there car.. the population is forever increasing.. the amount of cars per household is forever increasing.. the land for parking these cars is decreasing.. do the math.. without someone regulating this the UK, especially London, will be a giant car park!
Although I do not know much about this company, I must ask do you? Ok you have read some blogs and some other things from the internet, but have you spoke to the people they are contracted by? The Residents that live where they operate? The owner of the company even and asked them why they have operated in the industry for so many years in the same location of London and not become members of the BPA? I mean surely if they were as money grabbing and 'evil' as you are claiming they would become members of the BPA (who do not check up on any of their 'approved contractors' if they are adhering to this perfect code they have created) I mean the BPA is great.. you sign a piece of paper, agree to be oh so true to the rules they lay down, stick an picture on your warning sign and oh look.. automatic access to the DVLA.. meaning every ticket you issue you get the owner's detail and can get your money.....
Surely before you start making assumptions you should look in to this kind of thing properly.. like the law.. there is no governing for the issuing of tickets.. hence the 'cowboys'.
So really yes you are right in that the company aren't members of the BPA.. but could there be reasons behind this, i.e. they are not interested is grabbing as much money as possible but actually looking after the parking spaces for the people who can use them?

Think about it and do some real research in to something getting all your facts before you slate a company, that really for all you know could be owned by the man next door who is actually a really nice guy and you would never say a bad word about..

because one day the real truth of the situation could come back and bite you....

what a bizarre rant for a first post, and on a thread that is almost 8 months old and hasn't been touched in that time.

you sound as though you favour the use of PPC's in some form - why not start a thread and instigate a meaningful discussion if that is the case?

PPCs are only interested in making money! If you think different then I invite you to do some reading on the internet. It will open your eyes!
