Icons in messages

Hi,

How do you place little icons in messages so they appear where you want them to appear in a message. For example a smiley face on the end of this sentence.http://img.moneysavingexpert.com/icons/icon7.gif

I can see a URL to a GIF image but not a smiley face.

If you want to use the smileys from underneath the message box you can just click and drag them to where you want them... I just dragged this from down there!


Otherwise...are you in 'Enhanced Mode' so you can use the other site smileys??

I asked this question a while back......when you are typing your post scroll down to the bottom of the page and there is a little box that says Posting Rules.In Blue it should say Smilies are on.Click on the word smilies and another window will open.It shows you what you need to type into your text to get the chosen smilie.You can put them where ever you like in a sentence.My first few times I used them I previewed the post before I clicked submit to make sure I had done it right.

To actually use that image and have it show you can write behind the url and don't need the [url] tags.



If you have chosen to use the advanced editor in your user_cp instead of the basic one - there's an icon above the post area that says "insert an image" when you hover your mouse over it. This'll do the IMG tags for you so you just have to type in or paste in the one you want.

Simpler smileys are also kept to the right of the editing area if you're in advanced mode - double click them to add one in :beer:

easiest method, really is to follow Sra' pictorial posts that Allexie linked to.

Go to your User CP, control panel, then go to edit options where it gives you lots of options for your usage of the forum. from here you can add a signatures, have pm's arrive with pop ups, change your viewing of the forum pages (best to change that to 40 posts per page rather than the forum default) and then down at the last one you have the option to change to enhanced interface. remember to save the changes, then when you come to type a reply you have more options along the top of the reply box. If you click on the white smilie face a drop down list will appear and all you need to do is click on the smillie you want.
