What if they are companies looking for accounts people but the OP works normally in retail? Those skills are not transferable for example. If you go with that attitude, you're doomed to fail.
titch82, unless it is for a specific industry, there will probably be a mix of employers there - some agencies, some call centres, usually your local council(s). If there is no one there directly relating to what you want, think about where else your skills can be used - 'I've got this experience, and I believe that gives me the transferable skills to be just what you are looking for'.
Not quite so cliched, but you get my point!

I never said not to go without a positive outlook but it MAY be a waste of time as I have been to one at the town hall once here and 2 companies asked me what I was doing there! Thanks dogger69, will go thinking positive,

Thanks for advice, I would research companies but I am unsure of which companies/employers will be at this job fair, am happy to go, but worried as haven't had interview experience in about 10 years, so don't think the questioning will go well, will give it a go.
Then job fairs are ideal in a way. You are bypassing the CV selection stage and going straight to a face-to-face mini interview. Your chance to get in and sell yourself, show you are enthusiastic and have transferable skills. For most jobs at these places they will take someone who is a good worker over someone with experience.0
