Thanks for advice, I would research companies but I am unsure of which companies/employers will be at this job fair, am happy to go, but worried as haven't had interview experience in about 10 years, so don't think the questioning will go well, will give it a go.0

Never been to a JC one, I imagine it is a job fair. I went to one a few years back, horrible experience. Like speeding dating where there are 1000 men in a room and only 1 girl. Massive queues, you sit down with a guy for 30 secs, hand them a cv, they will ask what experience you have, and you leave.
May be difference though.
Ha! Has made me smile! some interviewers alone I'm sure treat it as if they are on a date, there was this one wide eyed gent who said c'mon we'll see if there is any spark! I cringed and wanted out of there, well it was one those iffy green energy call centres!
Seriously have my first job fair at a hotel next week for positions there in the actual hotel I hope... should be a laugh if nothing else

The JC could probably be wasting everyones time here as you may not have the experience in a job they are looking to fillWe’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I went to a Job Fayre a month or so ago. Filled out an application for a job and chatted to the various employers. Sadly never heard from the job I applied for.
It was interesting seeing all the different employers there.0 -

Then speak to as many employers as you can as it'll be good expereince for when you get a proper interview.0 -

If you go with that attitude, you're doomed to fail.
titch82, unless it is for a specific industry, there will probably be a mix of employers there - some agencies, some call centres, usually your local council(s). If there is no one there directly relating to what you want, think about where else your skills can be used - 'I've got this experience, and I believe that gives me the transferable skills to be just what you are looking for'.
Not quite so cliched, but you get my point!
