We've tried the Yotel at LGW, but won't be doing it again any time soon. Describes itself as everything you'll find in a luxury hotel in under 10 sqmI! t's a bit of weird experience, but it's very handy for Departures...

The Central Travelodge at LGW is very good, and very close to the terminals. The meal deals, if you book on-line are good vfm. Overall it's a very pleasant place to stay overnight, and if you can get it cheap then it's a steal.
An option to the shuttle bus is to catch the Metrobus (service 100), from either North or South Terminal. It stops on the main road right outside the Central Travelodge perimeter fence.

I've used the Russ Hill Hotel before. They are very reasonable, and includes airport parking in the price. The beds aren't brilliant, but if you are only there for one night who cares. It's about 10 to 15 mins transfer.

  • I always use the Holiday Inn on Povey Cross Road. Just can't fault it. They have a large car park and there is a regular bus service that takes you to the terminals approximately 5 minutes drive away.

Premier Inn north terminal. It's still very new and in great condition. If you fly from the south terminal, there's a free monorail.
  • Premier Inn Gatwick North, or Gatwick Sofitel. Both onsite, walking distance of north terminal, which is an easy 2 minute transit from south if your flights are from there.

Thanks for all the replies- definitely some food for thought.

I have to say I'm quite keen on being walking distance- we did that at Stansted for an early flight and it was nice just rolling out of bed and into the terminal. They are more expensive though so going to need to weight up pro's and con's. It was handy to park the night before so not only did it save on transfer times the next day but it saved having to move the car etc as well.

I had looked at Premier Inn's but they seemed quite expensive for stay and park- will keep looking though as they do vary in price. It is good to know one is at the airport itself.

I had spotted the Hilton as well which is walkable but again can't find any rates for under £159 with parking and room for the night, and I don't want to go much over £100.

Hi, sorry to hijack. Is the parking with the park and fly rate at travel inn North at the actual hotel or do you have to take the car somewhere else?
