My Google orders have been made without logging into Ebuyer and they all show in my Ebuyer account.

I've just placed my first Google Checkout order with empiredirect. If I go to my list of purchases on Google Checkout it shows me both a Google transaction number and the empiredirect transaction number. The empiredirect number wasn't in any emails I was sent or in the initial order process so it's fairly well hidden. This may just be specific to each retailer they deal with but may be worth checking if you need the retailer's reference.

Seems you've got it sorted now anyway.
  • I have got it sorted now - only because I was able to speak to helpful lady at ebuyer - but it was not on the main ebuyer (expensive) 0871 number.

Meanwhile the dispute I raised with google checkout has come back with the reply saying I need to ring ebuyer on that number.

They are obviously NOT reading their emails as having already told them that if I could have got through on that wretched number I would have!

Again I say - if you need to buy from ebuyer - DON'T do it through google checkout if there is a liklihood you may need to return the item.

    The initial transaction is fine.

Returns is the problem. And getting to speak to anyone at ebuyer is part of that problem if your transaction is not in the ebuyer site - as mine wasn't.

It is quite apparent that in the event of a dispute - you will get nowhere via google checkout who simply recycle the same emails from ebuyer.

All in all - definitely not worth the hassle for the £10 off - which you can easily rack up in trying to speak to ebuyer.

Not good advice, all of my ebuyer purchases via Google Checkout have shown up in my ebuyer account without any problem.

As somebody else has said, you need to be logged in to ebuyer before buying, as per the instructions on ebuyer site.

I am aware (as part of my job) that there have been some teething problems with Google checkout, particularly in terms of affiliated sites. As I understand it, Google are aware of this, and are working to fix it, but as always with new products, the bugs just have to be ironed out as people come across them. Good luck sorting this all out, and fingers crossed that Google get it all sorted so we can all take advantage of the best offers without worrying about the payment method.
  • Hi,

I signed into my Ebuyer accout, bought two items and paid with Googlecheckout. Big mistake. The items were not recorded with my account. This means that I cannot get refunds etc. Complained to Googlecheckout (could not to Ebuyer 0871 number and long holds). Ebuyer then called me and told me that a new account had automatically been opened as I had used Googlecheckout. I had not requested this or consented to it.

They gave me a password to log in, it did not work. On applying for a new one it applied to my old account (the one I use anyway) and not the new one.

No replies to emails to Ebuyer.I think this is disgraceful.

By the way - I use Scroogle for searches - I think Google is getting to nosey.:money:
