Very unlikely due to insufficient space on the multiplexes. Perhaps in 2012 when analogue is turned off.

I think you have picked me up wrong.

I realise that Sky users in NI have an NI regional viewing card which now has RTE (+blocked Premiership footy)

However what I am suggesting is getting a friend with an address in ROI (or buy it on ebay) to buy a ROI viewing card. Sky sell UK FTA viewing cards for approx £10/£15 which is for people who do not have a subscription to Sky, but want to use the receiver to get FTA channels such as BBC1, UTV etc.

The key is that in ROI a similar card would have RTE enabled as a FTA channel, without the NI based encryption, therefore enabling your receiver to believe that you are in ROI, and allowing you to receive premiership footy.

I would appreciate any techies picking holes in this.
Would this work in Mainland UK?? My wife comes from Eire and would be delighted to be able to watch a bit of Irish TV any advice apreciated

Only if you can subscribe from a NI address.

    Cheers, Des.
