Because I ask DD if she wants it, she says yes, so I make it and she changes her mind. 2 year olds often change their minds. ;)!
You're saying that you offer your child breakfast and if they refuse it you'll throw it away and offer it again an hour or so later? Surely that's the extreme of pandering to your child's needs? If my kids refuse to eat their breakfast/lunch/dinner then I'm not going to give them more if they come whining to me an hour later about being hungry.

    She's 2.5.

She rarely eats breakfast, but yes, I offer it to her. She only eats when she's hungry and she only eats as much as she needs. So yes, she's fed on demand as she was as a baby.

I don't eat breakfast, not do I eat to a strict timetable. So I'm not going to make her eat to one.

But you're not feeding on demand - you're offering food whenever the child whines for it, regardless of whether they actually want it. I would have thought that a 2.5 year old should be capable of knowing when they're actually hungry. So if they say they're hungry then you give them food - and if that food isn't eaten then more food isn't offered until the next meal time. The child should then learn not to ask for food that they don't want.

That's fine. I eat 5 small meals a day. So does she. She doesn't whine or ask for food. If I didn't ask if she was hungry and give her food regularly she probably wouldn't eat.

Not every child is the same, nor is every parent. So what works for you won't work for me. We do what works for us. She's got good teeth and plenty of energy. She's growing and developing well. I'm going to fix something that's not broken just because some others eat rigidly by the clock.

Yet she says she wants something then doesn’t want it after all, resulting in waste and her being the controlling one in the relationship. I look forward to hearing how this works out for you both in the future.

Oh !!!!!!. Have you taken a bump to the head or are you always this obtuse? Just because I don't hold her down and force feed her doesn't mean she's in control.

I never said you had to do either of these things and no one did them to me as a kid or to either of my kids or my grandson. But we still didn't get to mess someone about like that, we knew if you asked for something and were given it you didn't waste it.

Weight Watchers are often full of sugar, notorious for it.

I think people sometimes assume that weight watchers are a healthier option, whereas all they are is an easy option for those on the diet because they tell you how many of their mystical points they are.

Generally I think life is too short to worry about every single item that you eat and drink and to restrict yourself too much (unless you have specific health problems). As long as you keep a good balance I think a little bit of what you fancy does you good ;)
