I would probably look to get £50 off, and settle for £25-£30 off. (Provided that the full warranty remained in place).

I think you should be looking for a third off. The costs for them are huge in dealing with returns. £60-£70 or just come and collect it and can you have it a new one here within 3 days please.

Back in the day I used to sell printers online and assuming I wasn't being fed a !!!! and bull story, it was normally cheaper to say just keep it and I'll refund you.

You can probably safely ask for £25 (by that I mean argos are probably more willing to give a £25 discount rather than pay for pick up and redelivery). But tbh, it depends on the damage.

We can throw numbers at you all day :) But ultimately it comes down to what you think is an acceptable reduction to reflect the damage to the item.

Like above, I too have purchased a fridgefreezer that was heavily discounted due to various scratches. When it arrived a pin on the plug was bent so I used that to further reduce the price (they also sent someone out to repair it - I didnt repair it personally as I didnt want to risk invalidating the warranty). I ended up paying under £200....the normal selling price of the FF is £600. Funny thing? The scratches werent as bad as they described, they're barely noticable and on the sides so easily hidden

I really do not understand their logic. But it probably comes down to the script that the help desk has and to vary from that requires too much effort in getting superiors involved.

Argos turned up yesterday to take away the dented machine and dropped the new one in my garden, it is damaged now. They are coming back on the 26th to give me my 3rd replacement

Strictly speaking it's your second replacement...

I presume they've left you with the original machine so you can continue to use it for now?

    ooops 2nd, sorry.

they had already removed the first dented one from my house and so they left me the one they dropped, when i called argos they said i could use the dropped one until another new one came, which isn't so bad.
