Aerial cut by previous tenant's TV provider... eh?

Firstly some misconceptions - Talk Talk is a brand, they have no engineers or exchanges. Any work is completed by BT Openreach and their subcontractors.
Even if Virgin (or NTL/TW) removed the aerial to provide their cable it would have been on the instruction of their customer. Since the cable provides TV signals too, there is no reason why any aerial lead would be of any use as it would be seen as an upgrade.
If you took BB & Phone, why you did not take basic TV as well eludes me - it works down the cable you have, and installing a triple play you get a considerable discount, just by adding the additional service your cost may not increase in any meaningful way.0 -
Thanks for all the advice on this thread -- have it set up now, albeit with significantly less channels than I got on the Bush box...0

Free cable? Cable costs for usage, unlike satellite or terrestrial which is entirely passive.0 -
I quite like talktalk; the guy that came here was a subby for BT did a great job fitting a new line from the telegraph pole...just shows you depends who you get.0
