    Agree, win 8 is frustrating without a touch screen, and I couldn't work out how to find control panel as a shortcut without googling! However I have found it far quicker than win 7, and not crashed once.

    Luckily its free, being director of IT I can just use my companies bizspark licences ;)

    Windows phone however is probably the best OS out there, perhaps they should hire that team to work on desktop versions.

    I've had nothing but issues with Windows 8 as i didn't have a touchscreen so was constantly crashing, hidding things and generally messing around so i swapped back to 7 and the issues have gone

    You don't really need to find the menu in Win 8. Just hit the Windows key, start typing and the list of programs etc. appears on screen.

    I meant menus in general, not just the start menu, but thanks for the tip.
