Hi all,
I have recently bought an Asus Windows 8 laptop - I was wondering if anyone could advise on the best way to downgrade to windows 7 please? Is there anyway of doing it for free? If not, how much would it cost?
Thanks in advance

Huh? What?0 -
Only Windows 8 Pro is eligible for a downgrade to Windows 7 licence.
A lot of laptops are sold with basic Windows 8 and not pro.

Yup only Win 8 pro.
How about installing something like StartIsBack or Classic Shell instead?0 -
As above:if it's just the opening screen you dislike, then put Classic Shell on it.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

How about upgrading to Ubuntu?0

Guess I may as well plug my old thread once again, for a larger list of tweaks to make Win8 behave like Win7.

I wonder if Windows 8 will kill the PC market. I certainly have no intention of buying a new one for a very long time now I'm just upgrading what I've got.0

Worst operating system since cp/m.
I spent the first few weeks playing hunt the menu, so its manageable now.
In fact W7 is still all there, just hidden
Still worst £15 spend ever. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
