I opened another tab and did something else while the video was running.

Well who knows whats going on !! I get the video message but no video or button so getting nowhere with them as I cant complete the entry. :


ETA: you need to disable ad blocker to get the video to play.

Opening multiple tabs seems to help - by the time you have worked along them the video has mostly played itself out

How to get through these "video" comps:-

1) Log in to the website for one magazine.
2) Open a single competition
3) Answer the question and submit.
4) Watch the video (on subsequent magazines you probably won't need to watch and can miss this step)
5) When the video ends you should get the ticked confirmation screen as usual
6) You can now open multiple tabs for all the other comps for that mag and enter them - the videos will not show and you go straight from answering the question to ticked confirmation.
7) Repeat for next magazine

I believe that a flag is being set that says "video watched" after step (4) and this suppresses any more videos. If you open multiple tabs before watching a video then this flag remains unset and a video will be shown for every competition.

I reckon that this way is much faster than the old way - you soon make up the 30 seconds wasted watching the first video.

I was dreading doing the mag dailies after reading that there was now a video ad to watch but I've just whizzed through them. :j:j

I'm not actually seeing the video..just getting the "while we're verifying your answer, please view this video...." after a second or two the page loads to the usual "Good Luck! you have been entered into the draw..." page so I guess my entry(ies) are ok. Much quicker that it was before with the no/not interested options

I wonder what happens if you open one comp from each mag in a separate tab then enter them all and let the videos play at the same time.
Then enter all the other comps while you are still logged in - will they register as having watched the video and not show it?

I was all set to use One-Eye's tips but didn't seem to have any problems with my usual method.

I'd done my bookmarked dailies in FF and out of curiosity tried some other ones in IE to see if that made a difference but they too worked just the same. There wasn't any problems, as I've seen others mention, with the video page hanging...strange..but at the moment as it's much quicker I'm not questioning it :cool:

IMHO they haven't fully loaded this yet - either that or they haven't been able to sell the slots - working in multiple tabs meant that I went through the comps in just over an hour - about the same for no ads - but I get fed up with all the noise from multiple ads running at once

I'm still getting the video for each and every comp, so annoying and time consuming!
