Hi Guys,
I do hope someone can help me?
Two years ago I purchased a mobile phone from Buymobiles.net on 3.
After a few days I had to return it to them as it had developed a non repairable fault, they were fine and I got a full refund.:TA week or so later I brought another phone from them, again on 3. I then contacted 3 customer services, to ask about porting my number from the first phone, as I had already sent out the number to family & friends They said as it was 3 to 3 it could not be done, so I asked them to cancel the contract, they said that they would & I thought that was that.
Jump forward to February this year. While checking my online bank statements I found that I was still paying for this cancelled contract. So I asked my Bank to reclaim the money, via direct debit indemnity on my behalf, this they did, lucky me. I then phoned 3 again to ask why the contract was still live they said that they had not been told to cancel it, so as you can imagine I let rip with both barrels, being a Brummie I don't hold back. They told me that they would sort it yet again.
So imagine my surprise when today I had a letter from a Debt Collection Company based in Glasgow, asking for £199.02. I phoned them straight away & surprise, surprise they are not in Glasgow, but India or Pakistan.
They told me that it wasn't £199 but £451 all of the money that I had claimed back. & if I didn't pay it now they would take me to court.
I cannot type my reply!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So as you see I am in loop with what appears no way out.
Help me please!!!!!!!!!!

So you went from 2 contracts to none - and are unsure why you are being pursued for money? First thing is to check your credit file for two possible defaults.0

Sorry Buzby
I may have not made it clear. I still have the second contract.
I had 2 cancelled 1 still got 1
Sorry for confusion0 -
Do you have anything from 3 in writing, email or phone record to show you cancelled - in my experience, nothing is cancelled until you get confirmation (I don't think verbally will do it in this case, unless you can prove the call and it's content)?
Otherwise I think you may in the poop....0 -
Well, they will not take you to court - it's much easier to default you via your credit file. You need to check this first, and then speak to CS and get them to clarify why/if the cancellation was done correctly.0
