  • I think the highway code should be ammended...The current definition of flashing headlamps coming towards you means "I am here"

It should be updated to reflect the 2004 meaning of "Those bstrds hiding in white vans
waiting to collect revenue off you are up ahead!"..anyway thats what it means around my part of the world, and my of my there are a lot of flashing headlamps

I heard on the radio today that the highway code is now no longer in use
Did you not think to remove it from display before leaving your vehicle?
My friend has a Road Angel 2, and always removes it from the cradle and hides it in the glove compartment before leaving the vehicle for any length of time. Only takes a few seconds ;)

Wow, 5 points and a fine, that's harsh!

The fixed cameras don't bother me, it's the soddin moveable laser cameras which sit on the opposite side of the dual carriageway which bug me, very difficult to spot. Caught twice last year in exactly the same spot, on a Friday and at a similar time!! Really difficult to keep an eye on your speed, check the traffic and check both sides of the dual carriageway at the same time.

They're only allowed to sit on the otherside of the road or a bridge on the otherside if there is no central barrier on the road you are on. If there is they can only measure vehicles on the side they are on.
Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Where did you get this info from SB? Is it law? Is what their doing here illegal??
In my case these is a central reservation but I guess there's not enough room for them to park their van on it!!

Id be interested to know where you heard that, as on the a14 near huntingdon the laser van sits on one of the over head bridges on nearly a daily basis. He parks on the bridge over the south carrageway, whilst lasering people coming off the a1m on the north carrageway. Theres central barriers between the dual carrageway.

The bridge is also hidden by trees/bushes and situated on a bend, so drivers wouldnt be able to see the laser van until the last minute.
