o2 broadband help

I just received a letter from o2 broadband telling me that apparently my IP address was identified as downloading films and not paying for them. The letter says it's because of some court ruling with Golden Eye Ltd.
I did abit of googling around and found that this judgement was made last year and o2 broadband passed it on this year. And after a little research into the company, it's suggesting that I downloaded !!!!!! for free!!!!!
Now I know for a fact that I did not download anything of the sort as I am too scared of getting viruses on my computer forget anything else. And everyone else connects wirelessly on their mobile phone so quite sure they can't download illegal stuff either.
I did read that I need to wait for the letter from Golden Eye but still can't feel worried. I will be leaving o2 broadband in due course though as I know for sure I haven't downloaded anything illegal and most certainly not !!!!!!.

Why? If 'they' have internet access on their phones then they can certainly download copyrighted material. And it'll be your IP address that's logged. No free lunch, and no free laptop

You can? I have an iPhone and for the life of me wouldn't know how to download illegal stuff. Saying that, my one isn't jail broken.0 -

But you don't need a jail broken phone. If you have internet access on your mobile, then you can download the same stuff that you can on your PC-copyrighted or not. An iPhone doesn't know the legitimacy or otherwise of any content you download
Perhaps you should speak to the people you've given your wi-fi key to?No free lunch, and no free laptop

tor rentfreak.com/received-a-letter-from-golden-eye-international-help-is-at-handl-120808/ is where the tiny url is leading to. (Remove the space between tor and rent).

It's just the next phase of "speculative invoicing".0 -
I got this letter from 02 as well, did a bit of google and couldn't believe what I read.
I have NEVER downloaded !!!!!! in my life!!!!!!
I found out that is meant to be users of BitTorrent that are the alleged perpetrators, I have never used BitTorrent.
I was worried at first but now I just think its a Joke, they aren't getting a penny out of me.
Theres a book about speculative invoicing, I downloaded it off one of the forums, that will tell you everything you need to know in dealing with these people.

I am disgusted with o2, apparently they made no effort to oppose Golden eye at all, they were actually paid £2.20 for each IP address!
Now innocent people are going to be harassed.0 -
Why does this just involve O2, surely if they are getting IP addresses from Torrent it would be indiscriminate?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0
