Today it all comes to an end!

For those who new my past username (RainbowDreamer) may remember that I was going through a custody battle for the children and that it all got extremely messy with dad constantly reporting me to social services, following me, doing all he can to control me.

And that the children who are quite young were damaged and effected by the situation and dads behaviour.

A few weeks ago we had the *final* hearing where ss and others gave evidence along with me and dad up on the stand.

Anyway.. I thought I would update and let those who were following me know that today we go for the judges outcome and the final residency order and contact order will be put into place from today.

I am so so nervous, but also feeling very very positive as many things came out that were a concern on dads side.. but they didnt have a single concern about me as a mother.

The most his barrister could try and use against me is the fact that I study at university and that he is unemployed therefore has more time for the children.

I am worried about the future, as the children need a lot of stability and love and effection due to how confused they have become throughout all this. But I will do all I can to ensure they are the happiest they can be.

I have also recently started dating.. something I never thought I would be able to do ever again. He wont be meeting the children for at least 6 months if all goes well, but it has given me hope for the future.

University is also going well and I have just completed my first year! (Just a few assignments to submit over the next fortnight or so).

I dont know why I am writing this, I guess its helping to get it all out before going to court this morning!

I am feeling happy, confident and positive!! Today I start the rest of my childrens future :) I cannot wait to give them both such huge cuddles and to tell them how much I love them. (Although I do that a lot anyway).

I guess I will update you all around lunchtime with how it has gone. The judge will have made his decision way before today. Its just a case of going in to hear his outcome and then work out the logistics of it all to be as less traumatic to the children as possible.

I remember reading your posts about the ongoing custody battle over your children. May I say that you always came across as a great mum, who despite being under huge pressure and worry remained very dignified and calm, with her childrens best interests at the forefront of your mind at all times.

It was clear that you had huge concerns and misgivings about your ex and his state of mind. He didn't make it easy for you at all and the malicious allegations that kept being made, must have been awful to contend and cope with. In the midst of all this there was still a definable wish from you to resolve the situation, so as he could be enabled to have a positive relationship with your children. That is admirable and something I came to really respect about you.

I will be coming on later to see your update. However the judge rules today, I hope it means that you are left feeling happy with the outcome and that the children are able to enjoy a secure, stable, happy and positive relationship with both yourself and their dad.

It is nice that your life is moving forward. I am pleased for you that you have met someone new and I hope things continue to go well between you both. I think you are very wise to not introduce the children to this new guy just yet. All in good time. Your children are clearly in extremely good hands with you. All the best :)
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.
  • Good luck and lots of love :)
