    16- 24 would be available if the exchange were adsl2, which it is not. The 7.8 Mbps, is the actual speed of your link, however you will never get it due to overheads and network congestion. Plus net is a BT company, to
    is say they have good uk based customer service.

    This unlimited feature is only a very recent offering by BT in response to other providers doing the same. The only Plusnet tariff that is capped is the Essentials budget tariff.
    No, I'd always recommend PN over BT: same network, better CS, and cheaper pricing.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
