Like others have said, it depends on your skin type, I have normal/combination skin, basically it's only oily on my nose really, the No7 Purifying toner (it's green) was great but I don't think it's made it to their new range, I find the pink one doesn't do much for me.

If you're not one of the people boycotting Lush then I'd really recommend Breath of Fresh Air, though I poured it into a squeezey bottle and applied with cotton wool as I didn't fancy spraying it on my face! It's a cheaper version of the Liz Earle one but if you can afford Liz Earle, get that!

Thank you for the advice. I'll try lush too. Might pop in and see if I can try a sample. They are usually rather good for things like that. :T

Right! ......Today I'm going to add to the list, all the things I've been sent by Boots to trial, because otherwise I won't get a rush when I finish one of those (sad as it is to get a rush when you finish a bottle of something :rotfl:)

I'm also going to add all my free sachets.....I may be some time!

Further to my post quoted above, here's my list of additions....

    NBIs
    Via Boots Review Panel
    Burts Bees Peppermint lip balm
Dolce & Gabbana The One - Desire EDP 30ml
Gucci Guilty - Black EDT 30ml
    Proactiv Cleansing Bar 150g
Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara - Black
Yu Be Moisturising skin cream 70g

    Free Samples
    L'Occitane Brightening Moisture Cream 1ml x 7
    L'Occitane Divine Cream 1ml x 7
L'Occitane Eau Ravissante Cologne Sachet 0.3ml
L'Occitane Essential Oils Volumising Shampoo 8ml
L'Occitane Milk Concentrate Body Lotion 8ml
    L'Occitane Rose 4 Reins Body Milk 8ml

This is my only purchased 'IN'....

Organic Ocean Eye Lifting Serum 30ml

I got this from TKMaxx for £5.99, I've looked it up and it's an american brand that sells for $27.34 on Amazon, roughly £17.50 so it seems I got a bargain there! Plus I LOVE skincare with 'marine' ingredients!

In all that's 25 things added, taking my list back up into the 400s :( But it'll come down!! :D

EDIT: Whoops, forgot these from a Bzz campaign! Simple Cleansing Wipes x 7

    Happy bank holiday weekend everyone!

I am off to a baby shower tomorrow so am planning on gifting some of my stash to the mum to be. I went out and bought some baby stuff and then realised that I could do this instead and then save the baby things for when the baby is born as I am very skint!!

So I have 5 outs from doing this. None of the things are 'mum to be/new mum' specific but I am thinking that she will still make use of them and pamper herself (when she has the time!)

Well ladies I'm nearly at the end of my toner pile...I need recomendations on what to buy now. I've never been 'wowed' by a toner...

    *Steps out of lurkdom*

I use Boots Glycerine and Rosewater. A bottle costs about £2.50 and lasts for ages.

I have combination skin and it works well, although I doubt glycerine would be harsh anyway.

luvlycake - I have a similar skin type to you (slightly dry slightly sensitive)... and the Liz Earle Instant Skin Boost Tonic has been fab for my skin. I initially didn't think much of it, but when trying to use up a full size and some samples, I really began to like it and it's the first thing I reached for and wanted on my skin after showering. My skin would immediately feel comfortable and less tight. I'm using up some other toners at the moment, but once I'm done with them this will be back in stock. I know others speak of the smell, but for some odd reason - it really doesn't smell of anything to me!
Another great (and HG) product I would highly recommend is the Melvita Hydrastim - but it's not strictly a toner, but more of a gel that I use after cleansing and before moisturising. Has anyone else here tried this?

& Finally, I am really interested in trying some of the exfoliating toners out there - perhaps the REN, Clarins or Alpha H one. I'm slightly reluctant as my skin is a bit dry, but I might get one to use a couple of times a week and alternate it with the Liz Earle one.

    & Finally finally, Fiasco55 - Have a lovely holiday! :)

Yes have a fantastic holiday Fiasco! Very jealous!!

    Another UU from me:

69: S&G Hair Supply Conditioner 200ml - WNBA, this has been lurking around for ages as I stopped using it, seemed to weigh my hair down and make it look a bit greasy. Ended up using the last of it to shave my legs!

Have about 6 splutterers on the go at the moment so it's looking like May will be a good month for UU! Have pretty much graduated in terms of the hair conditioner stash (for some reason I don't seem to hoard shampoos?!) and the hand cream stash. Still a long way to go in terms of shower gels, body scrubs, and body moisturisers though

It's so nice to think about what I want to try, rather than how much I have left. :rotfl:

Oh I have a couple of OUTs to reports too:

5 - clinique foaming cleanser sold on ebay
6 - sample of bb cream included with the sale
7 - faith in nature rosemary conditioner...I think this may have been quite old as it was very watery.
8 - bath melt bought from a craft fair

    Phew. :j

Thank you, and again, added to the list.;)

I recently used up a clinique exfoliating toner and I wouldn't use again. It was far too harsh for me and felt very astringent-y. It was no.2...purple, I got dry patches and spots. :(

I have tried Clarins Brightening toner Sensitive and Alpha-H Liquid Gold. For the first couple of weeks I used them on very slightly damp cotton wool, to make sure they were not too strong for me, then graduated to swiping over problem areas neat. I do not let either, or any scrubs touch the very sensitive areas of my face. The resident beauty guru on QV* suggested that people with dry skin use the Alpha H no more often than every other day, and to cleanse and use it early evening and then apply night products before bed, In both cases I bought try me sizes before investing a lot of dosh on full sizes.

For my older, dry skin I use Hydraluron, just a tiny amount after hydrating toner, before serum and moisturiser, SPF etc. It really pushes the hydration in and leaves my skin plump and dewy. I am pretty high maintenance on skincare, but I have been blessed to have good skin all my life, but as the hormone levels dropped have had to spend more. I cut back in other areas in order to be able to do this.

Fiasco 55, best holiday wishes from me too.
