Rubbish. The AER is 3% at both.

    £40,000+ 3.00% 2.96% "

why they put then 2.96% next to it?

Because FD pays interest monthly. 2.96% per month effectively gives 3% annual due to monthly compounding.

Does anyone know the monthly date FD update the monthly Cash ISA interest to show in your online account?
I thought it was 1st of each month, but no interest showing in my account so far for May..
Last interest shown was on 24th April, just a week after initial deposit, thought I would have further interest up to 1st May?

Last time I had a FD ISA (2009-10) they paid interest into the account of the last day of each month. If you're not prepared to wait a month to see what happens you'll have to ring them.

    Hello,

My cash Isa will be maturing in the next 4 weeks, so really looking to see what the best rate is at the moment.
Balance I have is Over 40K

I see that First Direct offer 3% for balances over 40K

    Can I ask :

    (1) Has anyone had experience of transferring Cash Isa's to First Direct?
How long does the process normally take?
Was it a painless process? or did you have problems?

    (2) Is 3 % the best rate available at the moment? For transferring in balances over 40K?

Thanks in advance for any advise / Information :)

    Mine took a few days.

It is for a variable ISA at the moment, but don't know how long for as everyone seems to be dropping their rates. I missed out on the recent Halifax 3% fixed, which I was disappointed about.

. . in the MSE tables on this website ? I only found it by chance. Neither MSE nor MoneySuperMarket.com seem to mention it in their tables. Does inclusion in the table require payment by any chance - surely not Martin, have you sold out ? BTW - my experience of a certain red logo'd Spanish bank is absolutely terrible customer service, whereas my experience of FD is nothing but excellent customer service.

Kazza lists it in her post (HERE), which is where most people who know this website check if they're looking for ISAs. I haven't checked MSE's page on ISAs or MoneySuperMarket, but if they're not mentioning it, it may be because you don't get the 3% until the balance is £40K. Companies don't pay for any mention of their products on MSE.

You also have to have a current account with them, for which there is a monthly fee. Devils in the small print. I'd still be tempted but expect the rate to plummet any day...
