Cashback tarrif from Carphonewarehouse
Hi, y'all.
I was persuaded to take up a cashback contract from mobiles.co.uk (a carphonewarehouse company) a couple of years ago.
I didn't receive any paperwork, nor email (done over the phone). Because of this, I missed out on receiving my first payment. I complained, and was put in the spin dryer (you know the one, round & round) with no result. My life got in the way, and I let it go. The following payments were problematic, save for one guy, Alex who tried to take a personal interest in me (thanks, mate). Now my final payment is due to me, and the same email address I'd been using has refused to reply to me.
I've tried three times, and am now having to contact their complaints dept (no doubt understaffed). I'm going to try to contact the ombudsman after that, but as they are so ineffectual, I don't expect to actually get anywhere.
My warning is this...Do NOT use cashback tarrifs, as you have to interact with a faceless company whose sole aim is to squeeze every penny out of you, and this type tarrif leaves you wide open to abuse.
It's also damned confusing. Which website do I try to contact? e2save? carphonewarehouse? cpwonlinesolutions.com? (all the same!)
Who do I shout at?

You are being totally unfair to mobiles.co.uk .
You failed to follow the terms and conditions and now blame them.
All you need is your email address and order number to send a claim via their online claim system.
Everybody advises not to take out redemption cash back contracts if you are not 100% sure you can meet their deadlines.
I have now had nearly 40 cash back deals, many with mobiles.co.uk and never had a single rejection.
My recent claim was sent online, I received an acknowledgement email two days later and the cheque arrived two weeks later........simples !
Don,'t blame them for your own inadequacies.0 -

I agree with keith1950
Though not as prolific, I've had about 6 cashback deals with mobiles.co.uk,and would say, never missed a payment.I've always used their online claim route, and hence found this the easiest.(Their sister concerns CPW,e2save and OneStop still asks for postal claim)
I make google calendar reminder for the cashback months as soon as take the contract. As all networks do online billing now, I download the pdf bill and upload to mobiles.co.uk the same day the bill is ready. They send the acknowledgement email within 48 hours. Cashback approval email comes within 3 weeks and cheque arrives in another 3 weeks.
Once, they send me a cheque for £49 instead of £99.I emailed them and was immediately paid the difference.
There is a post by mobilejunkie ,which is very useful for the tips in cashback.
If u login to your mobiles.co.uk account, it will tell u which all month's bills u should send.
Make calendar reminders, so that u get the alerts on those months.
Calculate how much u should get for each cashback(as there are many who had been tricked by being paid less)0 -

When you realise the whole point of Cashback schemes is to encourage custom but balance the actual cost of the promotion. Hurdles are out in place to weed out the inattentive and this is all part of the game.
It is usual to find a single mistake at the start totally invalidates any further claim, you don't just lose the money for that period, but the remainder of the promotion.
By all means complain - but this is a well-tested route. Read the T&C's very carefully. The slights deviation cancels the promo and it vanishes. It's a valuable lesson - either play the game correctly and benefit, or walk away after making a mistake.0 -
