Hi can anyone help me with a Flight delay compensation claim.
I recently travelled back from Mexico with Thomson Airways/Holidays but had a delay of 23 hours in Mexico before flying back too Manchester.
Thomsons acknowledged the delay by means of a leaflet on arrival in the UK.
They stated and I quote "The aircraft due to operate your flight developed a technical problem before its departure from Manchester and unfortunately this could not be rectified quickly.
The aircraft remained in Manchester overnight and departed for Cancun Mexico to operate your flight at the earliest opportunity the following day."
It finished with, Total Length of Delay 23 hours 00 minutes.
I finally departed Mexico on the 27th February 2013 arriving back home on the 28th February 2013.
What are my chances if any on claiming compensation for this delay!
Many Thanks... I look forward to hearing from you!

There is a dedicated Thomson's thread, with lots of peoples' experiences to read up on. You should also read the FAQs on page one - which contain lots of good info. The short answer to your question though is that - unless you are prepared to take the matter to court - your chances of getting compensation from Thomson will not be very high.0 -
Thanks for your reply but dose that not slightly exaggerate the recent court ruling that allows claims for flight delays dating back 8 years???
I look forward to your reply....0 -

I'm sorry - I don't understand - what is the exagerration?
Incidentally, you can only claim back for flights six years ago, not eight.0 -
Sorry is it 6 years.
You did mention that I would probably have to take Thomson's to court to have any chance of getting compensation from them...0 -

Yes - that is right. That's not an exagerration, it is an extrapolation of most other peoples' experiences. If you take a moment to read a few pages of the Thomson thread, you'll get a good idea of how Thomson are responding to claims brought under this regulation.
If you think it's simply a matter of writing a letter, you are quite mistaken.0
