How would you invest £150k?

i understand this i do, but still, the richest people i know are buy-to-let landlords - the people that have 50+ properties and do it "full time" - the opportunity to buy cheap properties in town centres and take £100 a week from DSS tenants is a massive money earner - the capital gains might not beat equities over £20yrs - but the income is huge.
I see your point but I agree with atush that in many cases you are witnessing a slumlord.
I also think that even for these multi let landlords sometimes it is more a case os status rather than a sound investment decision. They would likely have made the same money had they looked at equities and other balanced portfolios / investments. But when you are going to the next fancy party it is more fashionable to say you have a 20+ property portfolio than trying to explain your equity / tracker investments to some opther new money bod.
Plus much of the big money made in lettings is based on the welfare bubble.0 -

Is this better?
None of your business lol!
People didn't answer because they didn't want to. Ones like me who did were criticized for being 'vague'
You'll get better using honey rather than vinegar0 -
I'd split it a number of ways -
My SIPP - £50k
My S&S ISA - £11,520
My Cash ISA - £5,760
My Daughters JISA - £3720
Just for fun.....
- £20k in Gold
- £10K in Silver
The rest I will put aside for my daughter's education.....lets face it nothing says investing your future than your kids!0
