on my own i cant be entrusted with money, i simply dont have the first thing about how to budget, ive tried dont get me wrong but it just doesnt happen with me.
if i were to go into 2 weeks rent arears (social housing) the HA would seek a possetion order, 2weeks after without contribution to the arears they would have that order and 1 week later would be escorted from the property.
my wife is average at budgeting the weekly amounts for us, but even then going nearly 5-6 weeks (probably longer if the claim is complex or their poor admin errors) without any income would see us out on our A$$ES with three kids.
so what then be split up by going into a emergency shelter, other benefits then on hold due to HB change to drop that part of the claim.
what about mental health sufferers who depend on a weekly benefit to know exactly where they meticulously and cant cope with changes.
who will deal with the alchoholics, gamblers and drug addicts who spent that monthly housing benefit and get evicted and how much of the tax payers money will it cost to deal with these issues? or are they going to become a homeless statistic, will the 5 week arears be retained for those who do seek work to have that 5 weeks arears then paid weekly to survive that month in hand they have to work, or will it be paid in claim arears upon first ben payment?
i cannot see this working, but hell who care IDS dont.0 -
Why switch to a monthly pay-out ?. U/C will work on the current fortnightly system just as well.
The whole idea behind U/C was to pay all the person's due benefits on the same day rather than spread them over several days. By paying JSA, HB & CTB all on the same day, the confusion of what is coming-in & when is removed.
Mind you, this is the same bunch of to55ers who are trying to sell-off Royal Mail.Never Knowingly Understood.
