In which IDS claims Universal Jobmatch is successful because of "6 million hits a day", without any mention that users are coerced into using it under threat of sanction. He's so predictable.
He says Universal Jobmatch website is a revolution.
He thinks creating a junk website, full of spam jobs & creating a torrent of junk mouse clicking internet activity helps people.0 -

Mandatory reconsideration doesn't much affect PIP or JSA - as neither of those will be paid during a reconsideration at the moment.
Come October - when it is brought in for ESA too - it will be considerably more important there may be a significant period of time between the application for reconsideration and it being granted, during which time the claimant is not paid, and may have to claim JSA - for which they may not qualify due to health.
Thanks very much for explaining the difference, that will save some worry here for now.0 -

I agree it will certainly make a start at removing benefits from the so called 'self employed' that run an Avon round or dabble on EBay every now and again and swear black is blue that it is a full time business!0 -
Just remove all universal credits and have done with it..........
Fed up of hearing about all these people worse off because of a bad back , stress , depression. All injuries/illnesses that no-one can prove wrong.
Just like the old whiplash in a car accident at 1mph.....absolutely pathetic.
Its about time we targeted the people who don't , wont work and give all their benefits to people who are working hard and continue to do so..0 -

Fraud on out of work benefits is very low.
On DLA - for example - as you mention 'bad back' - it's around half a percent.
This is dwarfed by the numbers who could claim as they are entitled, but do not, and is about the same as the amount of people granted DLA through DWP error.0 -

But Universal Credit is also for working claimants whose wages do not cover the cost of living. The cost of rent, food and utilities is so high that even (two adults) working full-time on minimum wage is not enough to sustain a family.
If Universal Credit is abolished, ordinary people will be pushed further in to poverty, unless prices and profit margins of companies are reduced or minimum wage is raised, which isn't going to happen. Universal Credit is needed to sustain the huge profit margins of large corporations.0 -

Has nobody spotted this gem on the UC online claim portals' 1st page?
https://www.gov.uk/apply-universal-creditIf you’re successful, you’ll usually get your first payment 1 month and 7 days after you’ve made your claim.
Potentially you will have to cover 2 rental payments plus bills and food!
So..... WONGA will do well out of this :money:0 -

This is going to end in disaster for many.
They talk about budgeting.
They really don't understand how people have to live on benefits & how more frequent 2 weekly payments can help or are crucial if they have no reserve of money.0
