    Afternoon everyone.

Well I managed to have an incredibly busy weekend without even going anywhere or seeing anyone! Saturday, I made lemon possets for Sunday's dessert, as it turned out they only half set with a runny layer hiding underneath, but they still tasted good so all ok. I also cooked up some spare mushrooms and broccoli with a pack of noodles for lunch which actually turned out to be really nice as a lunch, and got a load of washing done, some email decluttering and some tidying. Had been going to go shopping or for a look up the high street, but the weatherman said it was going to rain so I decided I didn't want to. He lied! But I took the chance for some "me time" and enjoyed my quiet afternoon on the sofa with a DVD.

Sunday, I barely stopped in that kitchen! Cooked tonight's tea as OH is working late and needed to take it with him, at least I will have a quick tea tonight. Cooked a quick lunch. Prepared a lemon drizzle cake to bake in the oven whilst it was on to roast some pork. Prepped and cooked the pork, baked cake, and prepped and cooked the rest of the components to make a roast dinner out of the meat. Packed up the extra meat to freeze and cleaned the kitchen together with OH.

Then tonight I'm going to make a chocolate cake and some strawberry flavour cupcakes, I will then ice and decorate these tomorrow.

All the best to you all for the rest of today.
  • Had the hospital this morning and it turns out that not only does the consultant say that I have osteoarthritis in my fingers , I also have carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel in both hands:eek:. I now have to wait for a ncv test and then back to see the consultant to see what she is going to do. So I don't know how long that is going to take :(

Saw niece and my bro at the hospital and looks like he is being made redundant along with another 91 tutors:(, they are being replaced with "Instructors" at half the wage of a tutor, crafty burgers

DH has just gone back to work DD is at work and DS is at college, so I have an hour of peace and quiet until they both get home.

(((((Hugs))))) to all in need specially Molly, LW, PP, Jools, bargainbird, bethebee, hilstep Oh hell (((((((Hugs))))))) to everyone :D

Must get dinner on, making meatloaf with salad and new potatoes

Hi Bargain Bird, I have never been, I have the dates list, but was a bit put off by a colleagues description of chaotic parking & a long walk.

bargainbird, we are going to Cala'n Bosch, menorca was OH's favourite place, we have been about 5 times, and his great plan was to buy somewhere there for our retirement. Looking forward to the sun and the break, but dreading the memories, plus we have some friends among the locals, so will have the "where is he" questions to answer as I only have contact details for some of them. DS and I are also debating taking some of Iain's ashes to scatter in one of his favourite spots, but part of me is saying no as I'm not sure how I am going to feel being there without him, if that makes sense. Went for some euros whilst out, all I need is my new passport to arrive and we are good to go!
    RIP Iain

There's a whole page in an ancient book Mr LW has "The Readers D1gest Cookery Year" devoted to marmalade; there's one section for "lemon OR lime", which was 3lb fruit, 6 lb sugar, 6 pints water, so I followed that, on the basis that you must be able to do the same recipe with the two fruits mixed; I had 3 each of limes and lemons, which weighed just under 2lb, and I just kept the proportions of everything the same as the recipe. It seems to have worked fine.:o

Butterfly oh, your poor, poor paws.:( I completely sympathise - I never heard of cubital tunnel; what the heck is it? Sounds most unpleasant.

I have a note from the GP to visit the walk-in "hand therapy clinic" so will be going on Wednesday, when Mr LW has a day's leave (it's walk-in but you have to have a referral note) so will see what they have to say about my paws.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Good morning Doony, Hester and Halight and All Who Follow x

    Donny - safe journey x
Hester - hope work goes well x
Halight - Glad you kept your DD of school as Slap Cheek can be dangerous for pregnant women. My husband is loving your pictures of the chickens and think we might have some in the future - not now as my terriers are too old to change the habits of a lifetime where fluffy or winged animals are concerned:T

Well after a more positive week as regards energy and getting a few jobs done I flopped yesterday. Was very grumpy with myself and feel very frustrated. However i think I feel ok today so plan to do some baking with help from OH (who is working at home now).

We also have CAB with our eldest son as we are helping him with his debts. The situation is still stable and he saw his friends yesterday after work so feel he is beginning to extricate himself a little.

Hugs for a good day OS or not xx

    Molly,

You really should get some chickens!

They are the most funny Animals ever! Some of the stuff they get up to when you let them free range around the Garden In the summer is great!
Plus you get the Fresh eggs that taste far better than the ones you Buy.
Set Up costs are on the high side if you can not or do not build your own coop and run. Always go for bigger than you need. But the biggest and best your pocket will go to. It cost me far more In the long team, Than If I had done this for the word go.

    Cheep, Cheep:j:j
:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j
