This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.
Bonjour/Hola!/Good Morning
Not sure where I am so I will cover all eventualities, last night was spent at Pau, France, but by mid-morning we will be in Spain. We don't think we have seen the Pyrenees with as much snow on them as there is this year, and I think it is a bit later too, so they have had a snowy time by the look of it. There was at least an inch of snow forecast for mid-Spain yesterday, thankfully as we have to drive through the area it has turned to rain now (between Zargossa and Valencia a placed called Teruel is very high, is is always cold as we drive through there.)
B is Weetabix in our hotel room brought with us with long life milk, that is all we normally have at home and is faster and cheaper than "bread and jam" Petit Dejeuner
L will be a bought out special sandwich in Spain
D will be beans and egg on toast, when we arrive, as we will be too tired to bother with anything else
The reason I am here so early is DH mis-read his watch, said it was 7! when it was only 6 so I got up to get sorted, and he has now started snoring again, but as he his my chauffeur (well trying to get him to be a passenger is hard work) I thought I would let him rest and start you off with a daily, knowing we are an hour ahead of most of you.
Take care everyone, ((hugs)), spoons and positive vibes to those who'd like them. DG

Chilly here again this morning,
Good couple of hours out yesterday afternoon, But the wind turned bitter!
Twin's two's back at school this morning, Her slap cheek is better, To tell you the truth she did not really need to be off school, As She felt fine In herself, I think she is looking forward to going back, they both like school but twin two really likes it a lot more, Never no moans or completes about what they do from her. Only when they send her home!:)
No plans for today, I really need to start sorting my days out better! If it warms up a bit which it should there are still a few Jobs to be Done outside. If not then there's Still some seed planting for me to do In the house. Plus the normal household Jobs that need doing, Why is it that all these small household Jobs mount up? And keep need doing no matter how many times you do them ?
Need to think about dinner tonight too, We used all the roast Turkey thigh up yesterday for the four of us.
Need to go to the butchers towards the end of this week to get a couple more.
29th April today, I wonder if I'm going to hear off the Hospital this week?
Who know's ?
I added three new photos to facebook yesterday morning Under the album Chicks 2 Not great photos but you can see how much they have grown In them.
Well I hope that you all have a great day,
Enjoy yourself's

Good morning Doony, Hester and Halight and All Who Follow x
Donny - safe journey x
Hester - hope work goes well x
Halight - Glad you kept your DD of school as Slap Cheek can be dangerous for pregnant women. My husband is loving your pictures of the chickens and think we might have some in the future - not now as my terriers are too old to change the habits of a lifetime where fluffy or winged animals are concerned:T
Well after a more positive week as regards energy and getting a few jobs done I flopped yesterday. Was very grumpy with myself and feel very frustrated. However i think I feel ok today so plan to do some baking with help from OH (who is working at home now).
We also have CAB with our eldest son as we are helping him with his debts. The situation is still stable and he saw his friends yesterday after work so feel he is beginning to extricate himself a little.
Hugs for a good day OS or not xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Morning everyone
Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x
DH up and getting ready for work.
Bright and sunny with a clear blue sky, damp underfoot from the rainfall we had in the night, but still a rather brisk cold wind. Just put washing out on the line.
Lunch was roast lamb, not at all happy with it, we did eat it as it's too expensive to throw away and when everything else is cooked it's then too late to try and cook something else! I've never had a leg of lamb that was so tough, dry and full of gristle. Everything else cooked beautifully so made the best of what we'd got. Tonight's dinner will be smoked sausage and mushroom pasta with creme fraiche.
Got a couple more jobs done yesterday, bought some white gloss paint and DH painted the bathroom door frame as it looked so awful now the new bathroom is fitted! Once we'd eaten lunch I got the ironing done, and did all that I had, so have now caught up. Cleared the kitchen down too, so now feel like we're starting the week reasonably on top of everything. No doubt today will be a manic Monday, and I know that whilst I was off last week there was announcements of redundancies that had been subject to consultation since February, not particularly to do with my work area, but we're expecting that again possibly towards the end of the year.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all,
Bright and sunny here, bed stripped and airing with the window wide open, bedding and towels in the wm. I should be sorting out stuff for our hols but I'm going to make the most of the weather and do some gardening and potting up, I haven't lost as many plants this year.
Fingers crossed the tree men turn up, if they do then DH and I will be lugging logs.
BM on. I'm having ys smoked cod & salad for dinner again, I don't do b/fast or lunch. DH has hm split pea and ham soup for lunch and roast lamb for dinner so not much cooking to do.
Hope you all have a good day, Off to peg out the washing.0 -
Good morning everyone

Very windy here and it woke me up a few times in the night. The sky is very grey but it's not raining at the moment.
No work this morning as waiting for news from the garage, am incredibly stressed about it but what will be and we will have to manage.
I need to find a couple of books to post for Amazon, then will keep myself busy with ebay listing until the garage call. Then I need to show my face in work for a few hours as I have had far too much short notice time off lately.
Time to make my PAD here, do a bit of work on my spreadsheets and check the freezer for my meal planner.
Well wishes to all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super day

Morning all,
Cold wet and windy here, no idea what's happened to our summer. Dh has gone off to work, I've told him to be really careful as he is up and down ladders all day.
I'm going to spend the day ebaying and applying for more jobs. I have been offered the other one but it can't help to have a back up, they don't seem very proactive in getting references and crbs etc.
Read a couple of jobs out to dh last night but he really doesn't want to work for anyone else. I'm not going to push it just yet but he may have no choice, but its hard at 52, even if he is a sexy fit 52
Still feeling a touch sick, no idea why, so shall have breakfast a bit later.
I find it really difficult being on the DMP and not discussing it with my kids, I am a very open person and wear my heart on my sleeve so am not used to keeping stuff from them. Dh says they will only worry and I agree but I'm sure they know something's up:(
Anyway enough waffle better get on. I'm going to make a lemon drizzle cake today and a curry out of the leftover pork from weekend.
Have a good day whatever your up to. J xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning all,
Bright and beautiful day here, we have had rain in the night though, off on a training session this mornig for a couple of hours, then home for some lunch, and then I will spend the afternoon in the office catching up on work, so although a day off I shall be working most of it .
Had a really nice walk with OH and the dog yesterday, all long a beautiful river to a weir, then on into a local town for an ice cream
and then back, must have walked 6 miles, was lovely.
Not sure whats for dinner, will go and check my list in a while.
Jools how are you doing love ?
Have good days all xx0
