Nokia Lumia 520 and Gmail integration?
I have an old Android phone that I need to replace. I have a good SIM-only deal and I was saving up to buy an 8 GB Nexus 4, but am seriously tempted by the new Lumia 520 as it is so cheap and the user reviews I have seen have been very encouraging. I am a bit worried though about how well W8 phones work with Google accounts; can I use multiple Gmail IMAP accounts on W8 and will all my contacts' details be transferred successfully? And can I view/edit my Google calendars on W8 too? Any advice will be gratefully received. Thanks!

Yes you'll be fine, Google is still offering ActiveSync so you can add GMail, contacts and calendar as one account.
In a few months that will change, but at that point Microsoft should have sorted out CardDAV and CalDAV support for WP.0 -
Thanks for your reply Rusty, will it work OK with multiple Gmail accounts though?0

It doesn't work on my Windows 8 laptop. GMail does, but I use IMAP for that. However, my Google calendar and contacts won't sync with Windows 8.
http://news.cnet.com/8301-10805_3-57576252-75/windows-8-app-updates-nix-google-activesync-support/:Microsoft began rolling out substantial updates to some core Windows 8 and Windows RT applications tonight. And while users of the Mail, People, and Calendar apps will see a laundry list of new features, they will also reportedly lose some functionality.
Users of Mail, Calendar, and Contact apps have lost sync support via Google's Exchange ActiveSync, according to a report in The Verge.

The move shouldn't come as a complete surprise to users. Google announced its intention in December to terminate Exchange ActiveSync support for new customers at the end of January, but Google offered an extension of support until July 31. Microsoft has now apparently disabled that access.
Does Windows Phone 8 still sync with Google?0
